5 Tips on How to Read More

1: Audiobooks

If you can’t find the time to read or you just find that it is hard to stay concentrated, audiobooks are the thing for you. You can use audiobooks where a physical book can’t be used like walking down the street (only that would be a bit risky), cleaning the room, brushing teeth and just about anywhere. Audiobooks may not seem as interesting and they are definitely not for everyone but you never know, one day you might thank me. Good audiobook platforms- Audible and Storytel.

2: Set a time limit

This is pretty simple but if you are new to reading and have just started on the journey to being a profound reader, try by setting a time limit in which you have to read no matter what. Start slowly. Try with 15 mins at first and gradually increase it. As time would pass there would come a stage when you would need a timer to remind you to stop reading, it is time to go to sleep.

Note: Make sure nobody disturbs you during that time period of a simple pendulum.

3: Think about the book you are reading

Throughout the day, even when you are busy, allow your mind to drift back to the book you are currently reading and think about various things that have happened. Try to predict what will happen later in the book. This will make you feel like you have to  read the rest of the book to know what will happen next and eventually your brain would force you to finish the book.

4: Try to make reading your priority

Make reading not just your hobby but your necessity. Believe that no matter what it is too important to read. Try to read as if that is one of the most important things to do in the day. Bit hard, yes, but after a while it would not be forced, it would feel natural. Also, don’t be too hard on yourself otherwise you won’t enjoy reading.

5: Read daily

😂 Yeah, be this much engrossed in a book 😂

Okay, so maybe that time limit part seems a bit hard to you as you are too busy, but let’s be real, no one is busy as hell. If you can’t even spare one page a day, that means you are not busy, you just don’t have the determination to read. So take a book wherever you go and just read.

That’s it guys!! I hope you liked it. Let me know if one of these tips helped you and if you would recommend any of these to a friend. Thanks for reading. Stay safe. Adiós!!

  1. Hi Nehal,
Thanks for writing on this topic.
As a housewife and with a small baby in hand, i keep thinking when I will be able to finish or at least read some pages.
Reading this blog, i have really good idea how i can continue it.

  2. Completely agree with all your points especially reading daily and setting a timer. When I first started reading regularly… I used to do that, choose a particular time in a day and every day I used to read at that time for half an hour. Thank you for sharing this post! Great advice!
