Discussion Post: 5 Books I Meant to Read in 2020 but Just Couldn’t

Hey Pals!! Today, I’m going to sharing 5 out of a gazillion books that I had intended to read in 2020, but as is the case with every typical, procrastinating, weird book lover, was just not able to πŸ™„πŸ˜‚.

This post was inspired by Kaya @ A Fictional Bookworm . So, thanks for the inspiration. Do check out her post, it was really cool!

Note: This is a discussion post, so feel free to share your views down in the comments so we can all chat.

1: The Girl who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhil

The cover! The title! The hype! Nothing else matters, I really wanted to read this book just because of these three factors. But as soon as I got my hands on it, all my excitement vanished. Please tell me it’s happened to you too and I’m not alone 😭.

2: Specials by Scott Westerfeld

Can I just say that the first two books in this trilogy- Uglies and Pretties, are utterly fantastic! I loved the first book, and I liked the second book too, and I just can’t wait to get to the third one. This is such a thin book, and I really wanted to finish the series, but I just don’t know why I never felt like reading it. Hope to get to it this year.

3: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

At this point, I’m actually really ashamed for not having read this book. Seriously, who am I kidding!? I am already in love with the synopsis, and I haven’t read many fiction books that deal with serious issues, so I’m like really excited to give this one a shot. Hopefully, I’ll end up loving it just as much as everyone else.

4: Save the Date by Morgan Matson

I have been meaning to try this author’s books since a really long time now and I had finally decided to start with Save the Date, but…will it be weird to say that I don’t even have a proper reason for not picking it up, except that I just wasn’t in the mood? I hope not.

5: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I had literally even started this book and was like one or two chapters in when I stopped cause a) I didn’t feel like reading another series cause b) It requires a lot of commitment when c) The first book is pretty long in itself and d) The hate opinions about it kinda turned me off. So, there you go!

Bonus book which nobody asked for πŸ˜ƒ:

6: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I.Love.This.Book’s.Cover 😍! *makes a mental note to buy it on her birthday, so the long wait can finally be over*

So, that was all for me. What are your thoughts on it? Have you read any of these books? What is a book you meant to read in 2020, but were never able to? Let me know in the comments πŸ˜€.

The Outstanding Blogger Award

Hey Pals!! I am so happy to announce that I have been nominated for The Outstanding Blogger Award by two lovely blogger friends.

A huge thanks to Aanya @ Soaring Firebolt for nominating me. Guys, go check out her site, it’s filled with stuff every Potterhead would love plus she even has her own book out which is so c.o.o.l. I highly recommend visiting her blogs.

Another big thanks to Riddhi @ Whispering Stories for the nomination. She has loads of bookish content, as well as her own tag, Just Some Bibliophilic Things, which is so f.a.b. Don’t miss out her fun blog either.

This award was created by Colton Beckwith. This is the original post!

Also, the second week’s prompt for GIF-y Love is now out on Tiction’s blog for anyone to participate. Check it out here.

The Rules:

  1. Provide the link to the creator’s original award post. (very important: see why in step 5)
  2. Answer the questions provided.
  3. Create 7 unique questions.
  4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the award’s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you, can be nominated.
  5. At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award!

My Answers to Riddhi’s Questions:

(Aanya wrote in her post to choose any questions from the ones she answered but honestly, I tried but couldn’t do it πŸ˜…. Even in exams, choice questions make me go bananas. I’m sorry, my bad! Hope you don’t mind Aanya. I’ll just answer Riddhi’s questions.)

1: What’s the one thing you’ll never do?

Huh πŸ˜‚? Idk, this question made me laugh. This is weird. Probably never eat anything non-veg. Sorry pals, creativity seems to be zero right now. Again, what is this question Riddhi πŸ˜‚!?

2: One book you will protect with your life?

Omg none! As much as I love books, life is way more important 😱!

3: The most tragic moment of your life? (If you do not mind sharing)

Ah, let’s not talk about it right now and spoil the happy mood of anyone here, huh?

4: One thing you enjoyed about staying at home for the past few months?

Talking with friends and chatting with them on WhatsApp between classes. It is so much fun.

5. The one food that you will eat, even on a full stomach?

What better time to use the site icon, huh πŸ˜€!?

Cause an apple a day…never did keep the doctor away from me πŸ˜–. But anyways, I love apple way too much. I like NEED it as a salad at lunch and dinner. I have an addiction to apples.

6: One book that you can reread forever and not get bored?

Harreh Pottah!!

7. Which post that you have written is your favourite? Share the link as well.

I wrote a post named It Will Hurt. It’s a fun, short story that I wrote and I think y’all might like it.

I Nominate:

Beware: Emojizzz on the way!!

To all the people I have nominated, including You, there is no pressure in doing the award if you don’t

My Questions to my Nominees:

  1. Are you the last-bencher kinda person or the teacher’s pet one?
  2. What was one dream you had that you gave up on?
  3. Describe your blog in three words.
  4. Maths…love or hate?
  5. What is the most annoying thing about your sibling (and if you don’t have one, do you want to)?
  6. Have you ever recommended someone something you haven’t done (like a movie you haven’t watched)?
  7. Share a good movie recommendation.

That’s all. Thanks for reading. Do let me know if you love or hate Maths down in the comments. Stay safe. Ciao!!

Ps: If you in any way think that I love Maths, you are so wrong lah πŸ™‚!!

The Small Joys Tag

Hey Pals!! Today I am doing the Small Joys Book Tag. I was tagged probably more than a month ago by Aanya @ Soaring Firebolt. She is a massive Potterhead and I honestly love her posts so much.
