25 Bookish Facts About Me

Hey Pals!! Today, I will share some bookish facts about me with you all. So, I was tagged for this by the lovely Claudia @ Claudia Reads Books, long ago. Go and visit her site, it’s pretty cool, filled with loads and loads of bookish content. She’s on a hiatus right now though.

So here are: 25 Bookish Facts About Me ๐Ÿ˜€.

1: I began reading novels when I was probably 8 or 9 (maybe even 7) and my first novel was The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton. I credit my sister for making me a reader today because she was the one who gifted me this novel and also the one who brought me more and more books to read over the past years.

Thank you Di

2: Every year, on my birthday, I have made it a tradition to ask for a book series as a gift and since it’s my special day, my parents can’t deny ๐Ÿ˜.

3: I am really guilty for having 90% of the books on my TBR pile to be hyped ones. I can’t help it, they just draw my attention ๐Ÿ˜.

4: When I don’t wanna lend out my books to someone, I don’t really refuse, all I say is that it’s with my best friend and I look at her meaningfully so she immediately exclaims just how long it would take her to finish it ๐Ÿ˜œ. We both are…

5: Before starting a book, I usually used to look it up on Common Sense Media to see if it’s appropriate.

6: Often, when I am alone in my room, I pretend to make Booktube videos. And don’t tell me you’ve never done that because I know you have. It’s just so fun.

7: Once, I told my History Teacher that at times I actually read novels during her class, she said that that’s good. I thought she’d misheard me or something so I repeated the theory, emphasizing that I read novels when she teaches History. Her reply: “But at least you are reading something!” I just hope she wasn’t being sarcastic ๐Ÿ™‚.

8: I don’t have a signed copy of any book ๐Ÿ˜’.

9: At times, I feel genuinely sad for not receiving my Hogwarts Letter ๐Ÿ˜ซ. And believe me, I am still waiting because I still have some hope. And guess what, I’ll wait for as long as it takes, even if it means waiting forever! I’ll be here Hogwarts, waiting…and….waiting and still waiting.

Come fast, the popcorn won’t last long ๐Ÿ˜’

10: I have a habit of reading a cute moment between two characters over and over until I get bored of it ๐Ÿคญ.

11: I love unpopular opinions about literally any book, I find them really interesting.

12: I love DNFing books.

13: At times, I don’t feel like watching certain movie adaptations just because I think that they might ruin the way I imagine the characters look.

14: I only read e-books as a last resort. I prefer physical ones and audiobooks over ebooks.

15: I Love Books

15: My favorite genres are historical fiction, science fiction and dystopian.

16: I actually have two accounts on GoodReads. I was never able to log in to my previous account so I had to create another one as I had forgotten the password, but it’s still there, lol.

17: I prefer hardcovers over paperbacks.

18: When I first saw a Booktube video, it took me a really long time to accept the fact that many people actually own more than 100 books. But hey! I was very young then and had only 20 books or something. So you can’t blame me!!

19: Here’s an unpopular opinion: I definitely do not HATE the Percy Jackson movies though I do strongly believe that they weren’t good.

Please don’t unfollow!!!!!!

20: I heard my first audiobook in 2019 on YouTube: Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.

21: I miss visiting my school library and Hans Ma’am (our lovely librarian) so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

22: I don’t read much non-fiction, neither have I explored much of the horror, mystery and thriller genre.

23: I can easily skip parts of a book that I am not enjoying. I actually like doing that at times ๐Ÿ˜œ.

24: When I was very young, I used to read Champaks and comics like Billu, Pinki, Tinkle and Chacha Chaudhary. Those were the best…๐Ÿ˜Œ. I miss reading them so much. I am gonna ask my dad to bring me some.

๐Ÿ˜‚omg, they are so hilarious๐Ÿ˜‚

25: A few times, I have changed the lyrics of songs to fit them to make a song relatable to a reader. Like: Bad Blood, The Climb, Story of my Life ๐Ÿ˜€. Do you wanna read some?

I Tag: Every bookworm out there!! I want to know more bookish facts about you all so make sure you do this post if you like, and notify me. Consider yourself tagged ๐Ÿ˜€!!

The Book Snob Tag

Why am I always late in doing tags ๐Ÿ™‚?

Hey Pals!! Today, I am doing The Book Snob Tag. I was tagged by Riddhi @ Whispering Stories for this one so a big thanks to her for the tag. When did she tag me, you might ask? Oh, not long, just about an eternity ago or something. She has a super cool site of bookish content you definitely shouldn’t miss out. So, do have a look. And now, for the tag:

Adaption Snob:
Do you always read the book before you see the movie?

Preferably yes. But at times, I do watch the adapted movies of certain books, but that sometimes demotivates me from reading the book so I avoid it as much as possible. For instance: after watching Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, I was like:

Format Snob:
You can only choose one format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which do you choose: physical books, e-books, or audiobooks?

Physical, duh.

Ship Snob:
Would you date or marry a non-reader?

Absolutely! It doesn’t matter if my partner reads books or not as long he respects my love for reading. And who knows, maybe I’ll make him a reader too ๐Ÿ˜Ž. But I guess I would actually prefer a non-reader as a partner.

Genre Snob:
You have to ditch one genreโ€”never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Non-fiction ๐Ÿ˜. Easy! I read books to escape the real world and non-fiction is mostly the real world. I am not a fan of it, I don’t hate it but I just don’t often find myself reaching for that genre too often. So, I would happily bid it farewell.

Uber Genre Snob:
You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?

Fantasy because that includes several of my other favourite genres like dystopian, science fiction and romance. So I’ll get a combo. Fantasy in itself is not actually my favourite genre anymore. My favourite is historical fiction, but reading too much of it might bore me, so fantasy it is.

Community Snob:
Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Romance definitely. I also feel like at times boys are mocked for reading YA and many adults mock people who read YA which is ludicrous. We have a to read whatever we like and nobody has the right to insult those who read stuff that they enjoy. This is something that really drives me crazy.

Snobbery Recipient:
Have you ever been snubbed for something you have been reading or for reading in general?

Not really. Over time, my friends have always realized that I love books a lot and they respect it. They don’t make comments about it. It’s like when you are a BTS fan and you try to bring them in all conversations, then your friends are like: uhh, he’s started again. But they don’t actually insult you. That’s the case with me.

Aw, my lovely friends ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’–

When I was younger, at times I used to hide the fact that I read a lot from certain people but they never actually felt like was being boring and stuff at all which made me open up to being honest about my passion. So, now if someone asks me what I’m doing, I happily say that yes, I am reading ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I Tag: You!! If you loved this post, be sure to do it and notify me ๐Ÿ˜„. I’d love to read your wonderful answers.

That’s all. Thanks for reading. Whoa, I had so much fun doing this tag. Let me know in the comments if you have ever been snubbed for reading a specific book.

Top Ten Tuesday: Titles or Covers that make me Want to Read the Book

Hey Pals!! Today, after a veryyyy long time, Iโ€™m doing a Top Ten Tuesday post.

For those unaware: Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. โ€œIt was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.โ€

The topic for this week is: Titles or Covers that make me Want to Read the Book. Without further ado, letโ€™s get started.

So here are 10 out of a billion books that I have judged because of their mesmerising covers or breathtaking titles because letโ€™s face it: I judge books and I will keep judging them shamelessly ๐Ÿ™‚.

1: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiegvater

The pure reason I want to read this series is because of its covers, because hands down, they are too good to be true! I don’t even think I will like this series all that much, I heard it has beautiful writing and I don’t like that in books, plus I am really not in the mood for any new worlds, but I don’t freaking care, I want these gorgeous delights!

2: On The Fence by Kasie West

Did I tell you I am kinda done with contemporary books? Because yeah, I am. But look at this cover, I might just die with cuteness overload! A guy who is thin, wears a white T-shirt and jeans? This cover artist has brought to life exactly what my ideal guy would look like (not talking about personality here, we’re talking about looks). Let’s just ignore the fact that we can’t see his face, and assume he has Damon-like hair.

3: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

Yes, I still haven’t read this book! The cover artist of this book deserves an applause *here I actually applaud*. I don’t think this is the most original cover out there, but I love it nonetheless. Not to mention, I do not think I will like this book either, like I said- high fantasy is a no for me right now. But the cover!!

4: This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

The font of this title is everything! I have actually tried reading this book two times, but I always gave up after the first two chapters. I don’t think the way author kept using the word “monsters” fits well with me. But the cover guys, the COVER!!

5: The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

It’s the title for this one. Doesn’t this title intrigue you? I mean, what a clever way to title your book, just name it something that makes sense just as much as it doesn’t make sense and bam! Readers buy the book only to avoid dying with suspense ๐Ÿ™‚.

6: Ace Of Shades by Amanda Moody

I love classy this cover is, and I love the word shades in the title. I don’t even know what this book is about so don’t bother asking me ‘cuz I am too busy gawking at the cover ๐Ÿคค.

7: And I Darken by Kiersten White

See what I meant by These Violent Delights’ cover not being the most original one out there? For this one, once again, it is both the title and the cover. And I Darken is such a mysterious title, if only kids like us knew how to title our imaginary books like this. *sighs*

8: The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

This title has always sounded very quirky to me and the cover in itself is just too cute. But once again, I never picked it up due to the fact that contemporary is not my comfort genre anymore.

9: Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto

I mean ๐Ÿ˜†, this title. I even started reading this book, I started the audiobook because I was unable to sleep…fortunately this book made me fall asleep and after 2-3 chapters, I woke up and realized that the book is on and shut it and went to sleep again, never bothering to pick it up again.

10: They Went Left by Monica Hesse

This is a historical fiction novel set after the events of World War 2. I like the title because it sort of depicts how most people would take the right path, but here, the characters took left, I guess, I don’t know, I just like it.

That’s all for me. Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? Do you think I should give any of ’em a shot? What is a book you want to read only because of its cover? Let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ˜€

Btw, many many manyyyyy congrats for coming up with the tag, Panna (I know I sound late but I started writing this post long ago). I’m so proud of you ๐Ÿคฉ. This sounds so amazing and I’m so glad to be finally doing it! Let’s begin!!

So, my zodiac sign izz….PISCES!!

Did I really just use that GIF!? I need to get a grip on myself…

So anyways, let’s get started, I’m so excited ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜!!

Note: View the post through the site if YouTube videos appear as links.

Will I ever stop gushing about this book? Apparently not ๐Ÿคฉ.

No Body, No Crime by Taylor Swift. This song gives the chills!

Percy Jackson, of course! It nails it for the combination of witty and cheeky.

Usually, when I’m angry and don’t know who to go to, what to do, what to say, Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo is my go to song, lol.

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. This book will NOT tear families apart, lol. I really enjoyed it though, the tension between the characters due to the supposedly problematic love triangle kept me on the edge of my seat (not proud of that at all). I was spoiled from before hand about the love triangle and the actual chemistry so I just wanted them to end up together (not going to say who “them” are because of spoilerzzz).

Love Soooooooooooong by Why Don’t We!! Yes, if you can’t tell already, I love this song too much, and every single one by this band. So listen to their songs so we can remain friends ๐Ÿ™‚. Got it? ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ”ช

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Do I have a sensitive heart? Hm…when it comes to books, I am not sure anymore. But this book did touch me deep and is one of my favorites now!

Uh, none! ๐Ÿ™‚

My Life With The Walter Boys by Ali Novak, a guilty pleasure of mine, I just loved this book. Except of fancy dress, it has all of the above- drama, love and hope.

If We Have Each Other by Alec Benjamin. I’m not a big fan of this song but I like it, the lyrics are awesome.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. So y’all probably know by now that I do not like pitch-perfect endings in contemporaries. Hence I liked how this one did not end too happily, it ended with hope, and yes, it has all the above elements too.

Roar by Katy Perry. Oh yes, we all love this song now, don’t we!?

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This book was a big disappointment to me, it was not bad or anything, but it was not that great either. What actually blew me was how horribly real it all felt. It was a good insight into the lives of actors.

Perfect by Ed Sheeran. This is one of my favorite love songs!

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. And whoa, what an intense prompt, Panna! When I read this book, I was mind-blown to another level, it was terrifically awesome. Then I read some rant reviews on GoodReads and I came to know about the various flaws in it, but eh, I still love it. I don’t read thrillers usually, so this was a great start.

Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes. Is it just me or do you also like the tu tu tu TU tu tu at the start ๐Ÿ˜‚?

I chose Panna’s answer for this one (and dude, I did not know you have read this series). I have only read the first three books in The Mortal Instruments, and aah, I loved them, I later realized all the flaws and stuff, but I LOVED them to a whole new level when I first read them.

Mic Drop by BTS! This is one of my favorite songs by BTS. It’s not possible for me to not dance on it whenever it plays.

To avoid choosing the most obvious answers, I am going with Boy Underwater by Adam Baron. I vaguely remember this book being about friendship as well as other stuff too that was a little deeper.

Don’t Change by Why Don’t We! This is one of my favorite songs, it makes me feel so happy, I think everybody, especially girls, should hear this one.

I am not sure if I am the right one to go to for unique and quirky books (you don’t need unique and quirky books when you yourself are the most awesome combination of both ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป). But I did find The Worst Thing About my Sister by Jacqueline Wilson to be pretty quirky.

Alone, Pt 2 by Alan Walker and Ava Max. When I think of this song, it reminds of my best friend, the lyrics could just as well be for a lover, but I think they are more beautiful when you dedicate it to a friend.

Usually, I steer clear of lyrical books, I do not like beautiful, ethereal blah blah writing in stories. But The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson provided just an enough dose of lyrical for it to not be overwhelming. It also suited the atmosphere of the story really well. The second book was kinda meh, but this one was amazing!

Two Of Us by Louis Tomlinson. This is such a heartbreaking song (should I be worried that I chose a sad song for my own zodiac ๐Ÿค”). It’s dedicated to Louis’ mother who had passed away, and it’s just heart-wrenching, and yes, it portrays unconditional love.

I Tag (you can do either of the two tags btw):

To all the people I’ve tagged, there’s no pressure in doing the tag, also if you’ve already done it, that’s cool too. And do check out these blogs, they have great content.

That’s all I had for today, this was a super interesting tag. Let me know a song that you would use when you get tongue-tied ๐Ÿ˜€.

Harry Potter Emoji Quiz Results!

Hey Pals!! So a little while ago, I created a Google Form quiz where you had to guess the Harry Potter characters by emojis. Quite a lot of you participated, and today, I’ll be sharing the results ๐Ÿ˜€.

Note: Due to the fact that one of the questions was not visible to most people, I have given .5 marks to those who couldn’t attempt it. Yes, I am very generous, you can’t tell me otherwise ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. So first, here are the answers-

1: ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŽด๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบโ˜•๐Ÿ’ญ

This is Sybill Trelawney duh! Most of you got it right. Though the emoji depicting the Grim looks kinds funny in my Android not gonna lie ๐Ÿ˜‚.

2: ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿฆฐ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿ˜ณ

This is our Ginny Weasley. She couldn’t help blushing whenever she encountered Harry in the second book. Again, many of you got it right.

3: ๐Ÿ‘›๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am surprised that so many of you thought this was Hermione. I mean, it kinda would be, but the more accurate and intended answer was Dolores Umbridge. The pink handbad, the cat, the torturous pen especially and the final emoji, showing her smug face at building terror in the students’ faces.

See the smug look!!

4: ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿšฝ

So yeah, I think the last two emojis are a big giveaway, and kudos to almost everyone who got it right. This is our Moaning Myrtle (quickly scratches the moaning part in case she’s lurking nearby ๐Ÿ‘€).

5: ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆณ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ“”

This is supposed to be Luna Lovegood. The girl has white hair (hopefully in every phone), sleepy indicates her dreamy look, and the book was all I could find for indicating the Quibbler.

6: ๐Ÿ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ”ฅ

Okay so, this kinda confused everybody, especially the fire emoji. If you haven’t figured out why I put that emoji already, I’m not telling you as it is kinda embarrassing. But this is Draco Malfoy. This is the part where movie knowledge comes in as the green apple appeared in his hands in the third and the sixth movies.

7: ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’”

Scabbers/Wormtail/Peter Pettigrew. The heart signifying betrayal.

8: ๐Ÿง”๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒ›๐Ÿ‘“

I can’t believe the number of people who thought this was Lupin, because seriously, it’s a half moon, and Lupin should be associated with the full moon. This is Albus Dumbledore guys! Half moon spectacles!

9: ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆฐ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿ‰

This is Charlie Weasley, though some of you thought it’s Harry Potter. When I copy pasted the emoji on my laptop, it had red hair. On my Android though, it has black ๐Ÿ™‚. So yeah, if you cannot tell already, this weird emoji struggle is very demotivating for making future quizzes ๐Ÿ™‚.

10: ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿฑ

Wands Away *hem hem*.

Almost all of you couldn’t see these emojis ๐Ÿ˜ญ. So the first one is the wand emoji, then we have the emoji representing “no”, then the angry emoji, and then the cat emojis. So this is not McGonagall or Hermione, because the first two emojis don’t fit them. This is supposed to Argus Filch (no wand, coz he is a squib), or Umbridge (since I realized the emojis are just as valid on her as on Filch).

11: ๐Ÿ‘ƒ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ’€

This is Voldemort duh, many of you guessed it.

12: ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป

Most of you thought this was Sirius Black, but this is Remus Lupin, or Fenrir Greyback. The emoji is not of a dog, but of a wolf. Both the characters are werewolves.

13: ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’€

For this one, I’m accepting Nagini and Salazar Slytherin. It was supposed to be Nagini, but since loads of you also did Slytherin, I realized it does fit the emojis. I’m not accepting Voldemort though, I already did him before with more precise emojis.

14: ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ‘’๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ“

This is Rita Skeeter, or as I would like to put it, the annoying animagus.

15: ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ๐Ÿชต๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿผ

Mad Eye Moody/Alastor Moody. The eye emoji, the emoji that could mean mad and the wooden leg.

Now for the scores (I have highlighted the winner)-

Ipsita- 9/15
Ayaana- 3/15
Aanya- 8.5/15
Panna- 13/15
Riya- 7/15
Naemi- 12/15
Shweta- 12/15
Rayna- 7/15
Roshni- 11/15
Inaya- 10/15
Silver Stone- 8/15
Akriti- 9/15
Jan- 7/15
Akshita- 1/15
Meg- 5.5/15
Rishika- 7/15
Sep- 9.5/15
Riddhi- 7.5/15
Khushi- 10/15
Selina- 3/10
Kripaa- 8/15

The urge to use ๐Ÿ™‚ this emoji after Akshita’s name was very strong, I have to tell you.

The winner is- Pannagrasi @ The Tomboy’s Attic ๐Ÿ˜ƒโœจ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ (and no, it wasn’t a typo)

Yo go girl! Congratulaaaaaaations!!!!

Thou hath proved thine Potterheadness. And I’m very proud of thee ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‡.

That was all I had for today. Thanks so much for participating pals ๐Ÿคง, you made my day really. Stay tuned for more fun posts!

Mid Year Book Freakout Tag 2021 (Is half the year gone already ๐Ÿ˜ถ?)

No way, absolutely no freaking way do I accept to believe that half the year is gone and all I did was sit back and procrastinate.

Hey Pals!! No but seriously, I literally freaked out when I realized half the year is gone ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Like did anybody even notice!? Well I so didn’t until various bloggers’ Mid Year tags started popping up on my Reader and I was “shook”. But anyways, today I am doing one my favourite book tags, and that is The Mid Year Book Freakout Tag.

Click here to check out the tag I did in 2020.

For those unaware, this tag is basically done around June and July when the half the year has passed, and it is just a fun analysis of how your reading year has been so far.

Sounds fun, eh? ๐Ÿ˜ Let’s do this!!

So I haven’t read that many books so far ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I’ve only managed to finish 29 books (excluding the one I DNFed and the ones I am currently reading) ๐Ÿ˜ญ, which is killing me coz I think that’s too less ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Last year I had read 55 books by mid-July ๐Ÿ˜ญ so this is a huge downfall ๐Ÿ˜ญ. But you probably don’t wanna see me rant here ๐Ÿ˜ญ (bad friends) ๐Ÿ˜ญ, so I’ll just get on with the tag ๐Ÿ˜ญ:

1: Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2021 ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Okay, I’m stopping with the crying emojis now~

For this one, I’ll be taking The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (yes, it wasn’t even hard to pick just one book, that’s how less books I’ve read so far ๐Ÿคง). This book is just plain beautiful. That’s the only way to describe it. It’s a heart-wrenching tale and by the end, even though I didn’t cry throughout the entirety of the book, I felt my eyes wet a little because that ending was just…๐Ÿ˜ญ (this is me forgetting I promised not to use this emoji). So yeah, this book is definitely my favorite one far this year so far.

2: Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2021

Once again ๐Ÿ˜ญ, haven’t read enough sequels, but A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir was a fantastic sequel. While I didn’t enjoy the second book in The Ember Quartet series, I really loved this one and I’m hoping to get to the final book soon.

3: New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To

There could be a lot of answers for this one, but I’m gonna go for Sunkissed by Kasie West.

4: Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year

*Ahem* none actually ๐Ÿ˜ถ.

5: Biggest Disappointment

This is another one I have quite a few answers for. But I’m going for A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’engle. I actually reread this book because I had loved it the first time I had read it, so I was hoping to love it again, but…it was awful! This was absolutely terrible. I marvel at the fact that I once gave this book 5 stars and now I’m giving it 1 star ๐Ÿ˜. I’ll do a full review because my thoughts are too wild to fit into one small paragraph.

6: Biggest Surprise

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. This is my first book by this author and I hadn’t expected to like it this much, I definitely expected to enjoy it but I didn’t expect that it would be so…sweet? And deep even.

7: New Favourite Author (Debut or New to You)

I’m going for Khaled Hosseini for this one, with Karen M. McManus as close second. Though I’ve only read The Kite Runner by Hosseini so far, I’m definitely planning to read more books by him because I just loved that book. As for Karen McManus, she has an amazing way of writing books that have that addicting vibe to them and you can’t put them down until you’re done with the story.

8: Newest Fictional Crush

Omg! So many, unlike last year when I had none. But the one who is totally owning my heart right now is Nate Macauley from One Of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. That boy, aah I love him so much ๐Ÿ˜.

9: A Book That Made You Cry

None actually, but I almost cried at ending of The Kite Runner and I spent the whole day bawling over All The Light We Cannot See too, but the tears didn’t come. So yeah, almost cried.

10: A Book That Made You Happy

None ๐Ÿ™‚.

11: What Books do You Beed to Read by the End of the Year

You really wanna know? Sure, I’ll give you a little glimpse of my TBR ๐Ÿ™‚

As if I’ll be able to finish these by the end of the year. It’ll be a miracle if I am able to finish them before Ragnarok ๐Ÿ™‚.

For real though, I’ve had this list made since the last 3 years or something and I’ve barely been able to remove 4-5 series from this list ๐Ÿ˜ช.

So anyways, I’m hoping to read A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir by the end of this year. And also reread at least 3 Harry Potter books.

Considering we don’t usually tag anybody for this tag, feel free to do it of you are interested. I had so much fun doing this ๐Ÿ˜€. Let me know how many books you read this year so far, or maybe don’t, because if it is more than mine, I’ll just keep crying even more ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I’m just kidding by the way, do lemme know down in the comments ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I hope you enjoyed seeing me bawl reading the post ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

The Evermore Book Tag

Hey Pals!! Today, in honor of the latest album released by Taylor Swift, I am doing The Evermore Book Tag (I just realized the album isn’t latest anymore, but when I wrote this post, it was ๐Ÿ˜‚). I was tagged for this by Ahaana @ Windows to Worlds. She also happens to be the creator of the tag, so thanks to her for coming up with such a fun tag as well as for tagging me. And guys, she even started her own Booktube Channel!!! Do visit her site and channel, it’s really nice.

The Rules:

willow: a book with a character you canโ€™t help but fall in love with

The Magnus Chase trilogy by Rick Riordan. I love every character in this book (well, like every character except the ones who are nasty gods or evil fathers). I specifically love Magnus. He’s just got a genuine sense of humor that cracks me up everytime.

Ps- I don’t know why, but…..(please don’t kill me) I hate this song ๐Ÿค

champagne problems: a book with a broken relationship

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. When I finished this book, it kinda inhabited a major portion of my brain. Cath and Wren are two twins, and Wren decides to do her own thing when they go to college, which includes leaving her sister behind to deal with everything on her own.ย  So yeah, it does have a broken relationship.

gold rush: a book you love with all your heart

I’ll never stop saying just how much I luuurv Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. I have already read this book four freaking times, and you are telling me you still haven’t given it a shot!? Please read this book, it is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!

Pro tip: listen to the audiobook narrated by the author himself.

โ€™tis the damn season: a book in which the character reconnects with their family/hometown

I honestly have no idea

tolerate it: a book with a suffering relationship

Gotta go with Fangirl again, can’t think of anything else.

no body, no crime: a book about murder

Oh man, I love this song! Brings all the right chillzz.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I remember reading this book with my sister and dnfing it right when things were about to start, lol ๐Ÿ˜›. I should pick it up soon or else the book blogging community might come at me with 10 foot long swords in their hands.

happiness: a book thatโ€™s an old favorite, but you just canโ€™t relate to anymore

The Doldrums and the Helmsley Curse by Nicholas Gannon. I read this book two years ago and as soon as I finished it, I declared it to be one of my all time favorites because that was the amount of fun I had reading it. But looking back on it, it was a pretty forgettable read and even though I loved it then, I can’t say I love it anymore, it’s still a pretty great book and one I recommend even now, but I am over my love for it now.

dorothea: a book featuring an old (or strong) friendships

This friendship is goals

coney island: a book that made you cry // completely destroyed you

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. Well, a character died in this book, and the way the death affected Harry was just intolerable and so heartbreaking, how could I have possibly stopped my eyes from leaking!?

ivy: a book that was an unexpected favorite

A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. I still have a lot of issues with this series but the first book was really really good. Not to mention, the narration by Tim Curry brought life to these characters.

cowboy like me: a book about thieves, or criminals

Yeah well apparently, I can only think of Aladdin right now, and I don’t know a book I’ve read that has thieves in it. Ah wait, I just remembered.. how about… The Book Thief…๐Ÿ˜ƒ?

I know I’m very smart *pats herself on the back, smiling evilly*.

long story short: a book that made up your childhood

Enid Blyton’s book series’- The Famous Five and The Secret Seven sparked my love for reading and I still love them a lot. Her characters are always so fun.

marjorie: a book with a moving message

Heidi by Johanna Spyri. This is another one of my favorite books though I think I have read the abridged version of it, but who cares? I love the characters and the setting. It takes place in the Swiss Alps and one of the major themes of this book, as I find it, is the healing powers and the beauty of nature. Just how big an impact nature can have on a person is very well portrayed through this novel.

closure: a series in which you NEED to read the next book

I really love The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken but I haven’t read the second book yet, something I feel ashamed of, but something I was never quite in the mood of. Hopefully, I’ll pick it up soon.

evermore: the perfect conclusion to an extremely long (but worth it) series

I haven’t read many “long” series, and the one that I have read had an awful conclusion so…

I Tag: Being the very generous person that I am ๐Ÿ˜‡, I tag Anyone and Everyone who wants to this. If you are a book lover or a Swiftie, do give this tag a shot ๐Ÿ˜€.

Results! Guess the Book Blogger Challenge

Sorry for the stupid featured image, hehe ๐Ÿ˜.

Hey Pals!! So a few days ago, I created a Google Form where I gave hints to 10 book bloggers and y’all were supposed to guess which ones they were. The time for submission has ended, but if you’re interested, you can still give it a shot here ๐Ÿ˜‰.

So, since I am sure some of you were interested to know the right answers, I’ve decided to share them! So…

1: A female blogger who can be easily found in books yet is lost in a place that begins with the first letter of my name-

This is Georgia @ Lost in Neverland. Though one of you guessed Lost in Narnia, which I have to admit was pretty cool thinking โœจ, but well…

2: One of the collaborators of my second site “That Weird Club”, this teen girl has already published two books and her site name screams “POTTERHEAD!”

Potterhead Aanya @ Soaring Firebolt, of course! Or as I would like to call her, the tech girl.

3: The blog name with the alliteration of the letter “m”, this book blogger can’t help but gush about their love for The Lord of the Rings as much as possible

Millay @ Millay’s Musings. I guess this one was a little hard, considering a lot of people love Lord of the Rings, but the alliteration of “m” kinda gave a good hint.

4: This book blogger has a GoodReads Club with another blogger. A few months ago, she changed her blog name to something related to books and thunder.

Cherelle @ A Bolt Out of the Book For those of you who don’t know, she started a really fun book club called “Books Go Boom” with Ashmita @ The Fictional Journal.ย

5: This book blogger shares her first name with a month, and her site name suggests that she can easily be found reading till 12 am.

This is April @ Booked Till Midnight. You get the 12 am part now, huh? I know I’m smart ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

6: This person is pretty much anonymous, if you can call naming yourself the french version of “me” as anonymous, haha.

So many of you nailed this one simple because you know that “me” in French is “moi” ๐Ÿ˜‚. This is Definitely Moi @ Bookish Blunders.

7: Once having written what a “best” selling story looks like, and often known for sweet, long comments, this blogger can be associated with the animal- owl.

These hints would definitely be hard if you haven’t interested with the person, but it’s also accurate. This is Naemi @ A Book Owl’s Corner ๐Ÿฆ‡

8: This book blogger shares her name with a red coloured fruit (and no, her name is not apple). It seems like all the letters she sends somehow get lost.

Okay, this is not me ๐Ÿ˜‚. So many of you thought it was me, I mean okay, my bitmoji has an apple in it but as far as I know, “Nehal” is not the name of any fruit. This blogger is Cherry @ Letters To The Lost.

9: A big fan of Les Miserables, this book blogger’s site name is the bookish equivalent to “One Minute More”.

This is Julie @ One Book More. If you didn’t know, well now you do.ย

10: This Indian blogger, often mistaken for foreign due to her non-Indian kinda name, will kill you if you insult Six of Crows in front of her and has the pic of a catterpillar for a profile.

Another one I guess the hint was kinda hard of. This is Rachel @ A Bookworm’s Paradise, the book”worm” emoji and the non-Indian name.ย ย ย

So, these were the answers! I’m not revealing the scores of everyone here, if you want to know yours, let me know in the comments. But I’m gonna reveal the winners. They are:

Riddhi @ Whispering Stories and Tiction @ Fictionally Crazy! As per the rules, both of them get to do a fun collab with me!!

Believe me when I say I haven’t done any partiality ๐Ÿ˜‚. The two got all 10/10 answers right! Like wow!

That’s all for today. Comment me if you want to know your score. Hope you had fun! And a big thanks to everyone who participated, ’cause a lot of you participated ๐Ÿ˜, and you totally made it worth it! Stay tuned for more fun challenges ๐Ÿ˜€.

Guess the Book Blogger Challenge!

Hey Pals!! Today, we’re doing a fun challenge ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I came up with this on my own *pats herself on the back* though as I’m writing this, I’m still not sure what I’m about to do, but sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow you know? Thinking things through all the time is super stressful!

So anyways, in today’s post, you basically have to guess the book blogger by the hint I give!!

I’m thinking not sticking to anything specific when it comes to hints, so the hints are just gonna be random. Let’s start!

The Rules:

  1. There are 10 book bloggers I have randomly chosen (randomly so not being partial).
  2. I’ll give a particular hint regarding each blogger, and you all need to guess them by that.
  3. When you’re done, you’ll need to write down the answers in The Google Form so it doesn’t get complicated.
  4. That’s all! Just have fun.

The one(s) who guesses the most right, gets to do a fun collab with me!!

So, sounds nice, eh ๐Ÿ˜!? Fill out the Google Form here, and know just how well-versed into the book blogging community you are. You never know, you could be one of the bloggers in the list!

So good luck! I hope you have fun.
