Goodbye forever 🙂

And the time hath come, when I bid thee adieu 🤧.

If it wasn’t obvious, I’m kidding. I need a break! I’ve got exams!! I hate exams!!! 😭

And not just exams, these are boards (pre-boards as of now)! So yeah, I need to get rid of some things that distract me.

And I tried delaying it as long as possible but I am finally taking a hiatus. I will be away for like two months, give or take. I’ll not post, but I will occasionally be found reading your posts, so just know that I am not vanishing into thin air or something as of now. If I have time, I will even post something here and there.

And don’t worry, I’m not dying 🙄, I’ll be back.

Also, you need to do a VERY important thing while I’m away…like VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

You need to miss me! 😃

You better miss me or you will be in some serious trouble 🙂✨.

Adiós! See ya soon. I love you all so much and I’ll miss you and just thanks so so much for the support, really. I don’t know where I would have been without you. Take care, lahs!! ❣️

..Don’t forget to miss me 😤.

Discussion Post: 5 Popular Books with Awesome Covers

Hey Pals!! Today, I am doing a post where I talk about some of my favorite book covers. So, without much ado, let us begin!

1: The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater

I am so ashamed of not having read any of these books. Seriously, these covers are just gorgeous and you cannot make me think otherwise. I could (figuratively) spend a whole day just staring at them because they are freaking beautiful 💖.

I love the font, the pictures and even the background. My favorite would either be the cover of Blue Lily, Lily Blue or The Raven King. These books will probably be my next buys because I am dying to put them on my shelf so they can increase its beauty.

Also, if you have read these books let me know if I should give them a try.

2: An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

As much as I disliked this book, there is absolutely no point in denying that this cover rocks. I don’t even know what it is that I like about it but it just looks really pretty. I wish it wasn’t that good because it make me feel sad for not liking this book.

3: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Can I just take a moment to say that I only recently finished this series and it was one of the most awesome books I have ever read, these are now my comfort reads for life 😭.

I read all of these in paperback and I am even rereading Cinder right now. The covers are so gorgeous and the aesthetic could literally kill!

4: The Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Another series I dnfed. I don’t understand why these covers don’t get as much hype as the books do because omg the covers are way too good. The best one is that of The Queen of Shadows in my opinion. Especially in those Booktube videos when people hold them up while reviewing, I just want to smack the screen and snatch it out of their hands 🤩.

5: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

This book technically isn’t on my TBR even though I haven’t read it yet, but that’s because I am kind of not interested? But I should be dead if I ever say anything bad about this cover because no matter how cliché it looks, it’s still very pretty!

Those were all for me. Do you agree with me? What are some of your book covers? Let me know in the comments 😀.

Look at me, I’ve changed

From the girl who used to laugh at her own lame joke,
To the girl who now gives only a vacant smile when told one,
I’ve changed.

From the girl whose presence seemed to light up the mood,
To the girl who now wants to hide to avoid being ignored,
I’ve changed.

From the girl who was sure nothing mattered more than her family,
To the girl whose reckless words now cause them pain every day,
I’ve changed.

From the girl who couldn’t understand how somebody could be “depressed”,
To the girl who now feels like she’s engulfed in a bubble of darkness,
I’ve changed.

From the girl who couldn’t ever hide her worries from her mother,
To the girl who has now learnt to cry herself to sleep,
I’ve changed.

Oh, how I’ve changed.

~Nehal

Bwahaha. Totally lost all ability to write something happy. This is just fiction, as always. I’m just living a life right now and having fun here and there lol 😛. Lemme know how you liked it!

Discussion Post: 5 of My Favourite Kind of Scenes in a Novel

Hey Pals!! So today, I’ll be sharing with you 5 of My Favourite Kind of Scenes in a Novel! These are the kind of scenes that I crave for, that I devour once I get my hands on them, that make their way into my little heart and refuse to leave. These are the most amazing scenes and today, we’ll see how many you find relatable too. Let’s start!

1: The main character who has gone through a lot finally breaks downs

“I lean my arms heavily against the table and press my palms to my eyes.

“Help me,” I whisper desperately to the empty room. “I can’t do this.” I want to, I love her, but I can’t bear it. It’s been almost a year. What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just move on?
My throat chokes up. The tears come in a rush. I don’t bother to stop them, because I know it’s impossible.”

Champion: A Legend Novel, Lu, Marie

This is one of the best breakdown scenes I have read so far 🥺. There have been others, like the one towards the end of The Order of the Phoenix. There is just something so freaking heartbreaking about a character who finally has a breakdown that it just touches me so much!

2: A main character who is not brave and refuses to do what is right

For example- Lia from An Ember in the Ashes instead of helping her brother ran away terrified. Werner in All The Light We Cannot See realized that what he was doing might be wrong, especially when the people he was working for were hurting his friend, but at the same time he could not back away because he was finally doing what he wanted and he was scared to return to his old life. This kind of stuff makes such flawed characters and shows the complexity of emotions. Not everyone is destined to be a hero or do good, and that’s okay.

3: Hurt and Comfort Scenes

I don’t remember any hurt/comfort scenes worth mentioning that I read in a book, but I do love the Hurt Comfort scenes that Dramione fans write in fanfictions, I devour them!

Oh my god, these scenes are so freaking angsty! The main character is a girl who is probably not on very good terms with the male love interest and they either keep bitching about each other or one of them ends up hurting the other one somehow. It could also be that the girl gets injured in a fight or something (in the case of a fantasy novel) and the only person who can help is that particular guy and then he tends to her wounds and things get ✨ intimate ✨.

4: The main female lead blacks out for days and when she wakes up, her friends tell her how the love interest was so worried about her but the love interest acts like he does not care

KAZ AND INEJ from The Six of Crows!

Is this not awesome?! It makes me wanna scream because the girl is dumb enough to believe the ignorance of the guy and the guy is dumb enough to let her believe it! Idiots they are, but I love them.

5: A bittersweet ending

This sounds very normal but imagine this- It’s been three years since the major events in the novel, and all the main character has been doing is trying to survive, every day is a struggle. Until finally, somehow something changes. A tiny change and yet it’s a sliver of hope, hope that finally, things might change for the better. And it’s so satisfying yet marred by all the terrible stuff that has happened in the novel, it feels more bittersweet than happy.

Novels with bittersweet endings, on the top of my head, are The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson, The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.

So, those were all for me! What are some of your favourite types of scenes in a novel? Lemme know in the comments! 😀
