25 Harry Potter Facts About Me

Hey Pals!! Today, I am going to be sharing 25 Harry Potter-related facts about me. This is inspired by the 25 Bookish Facts About Me Tag. I think the original 25 Bookish Facts post was created by Rachel @ Confessions of a Book Geek, but I am not sure, so sorry about that. Since I do not have much else to say, let us just get started!

So here are: 25 Harry Potter Facts About Me (beware- major spoilers ahead)-

  • I first read Harry Potter when I was 9 or 10.
  • I am a Slytherdor.
  • My Quidditch position would be Chaser or Beater, because I just do not think I would be good at being any other player…but at the same time I would only play for fun because I suck at sports.
  • I have forced many of my friends to read the first book in this series and a few of them have…hehe.
  • I am an expert at Harry Potter trivia…like literally. Until two years ago, I used to spend all my waking hours taking thousands of trivial quizzes on various websites. I probably won’t remember all the details now, but I used to be a pro back then.
  • If someone walked upto me saying that I am a witch and have a place at Hogwarts, I would totally…not believe them. But I wish it could happen.
  • My favorite book is The Order of the Phoenix and fav movie is The Prisoner of Azkaban.
  • I would love to eat treacle art and chocolate cauldrons and anything sweet of the wizarding world.
  • My favorite ship is Dramione. Love them so so much! Oh and also, Umbridge and a Dementor!! Like please, that 😃 ship 😃 freaking 😃 rocks 😃.

  • I really don’t like Harry and Ginny together and nor do I like Ron and Hermione together. I just don’t. They don’t fit, at least not for me.
  • I actually don’t mind Peeves being cut off from the movies. He was really annoying.
  • My favorite house is Slytherin.
  • I used to love Harry Potter more than anything. But my love for it has decreased a little bit over the years. I mean, I started rereading the series a few months ago and I left Goblet OF Fire halfway through. 😦
  • I made a few DIY Harry Potter bookmarks from Google and YouTube and I love them.
  • I am still waiting for my Hogwarts Letter to arrive and I’ll wait as long as it takes. It’s just taking a little too much time.
  • I have read lots of Harry Potter fanfictions on fanfiction.net but uh, I only read them for the romance. And believe me, fanfictions take the romance to another level.
  • I have a Harry Potter Calendar that my sister got when 2021 started…wow, I just realized that calendar is literally of no use anymore.
  • I also own a Harry Potter popsocket that I love with all my heart, and a Harry Potter notebook, Harry Potter playing cards, and 7 bookmarks that I got as a gift on my birthday (okay, I sound like a spoiled child but you should see the amount of merchandise some other Potterheads own). I think I own a few other things too but I can’t remember right now.
  • I have not heard the audiobooks for the series though. My sister has and I heard the narration here and there and found it pretty good.
  • There was a chapter in our Hindi book in 7th standard, which was taken from an excerpt from The Mirror of Erised chapter from The Philosopher’s Stone, and as you can very well imagine, I did boast my knowledge about it as much as possible in front of all my classmates 😎.
  • Remus Lupin is my favourite Marauder, teacher, and also like my Harry Potter favourite character in general.
  • I started watching The Reunion but have not completed it yet. Oop-
  • I have not read any other book set in the Wizarding World except of the original series and The Cursed Child.
  • I used to have the unpopular opinion that The Cursed Child was actually an awesome book (yes, I know you wanna kill me but wait). I did used to really like it and I still do not think that it was an utter monstrosity because it was…fun. I mean, it did have very gross moments in it and lots of plotholes, but apart from that, I enjoyed reading it. However, I realized the book was a fanfiction and that kind of changed a lot of my opinions.
  • And lastly, I am finishing writing this Harry Potter post while my teacher is blabbering about the various isomers of Pentyne in the background 🙂.

      And yes, as far as I know, The Cursed Child is a fanfiction (but just in case it turns out that it wasn’t, just know I heard a Booktuber say that so…)

  2. okay tbh, even I dont like Harry and Ginny together a lot and I THINK Ron and Hermione look good but again, just don’t fit!
    and dramione are soo good, like better than the other two at least😂🥺
    and damnn you have some harry potter merch😂 (we need to see all of themm🥺)

    Even I havent watched the reunion yet😭

    1. Yesss, thank god you relate with me that those two ships are not all that great! I used to ship Harry and Hermione but now I don’t have many strong feelings for them either, lol.

      I’ve heard the reunion wasn’t all that great anyways…but I watched the first 30 mins and Tom and Emma hugged…and I know the actors are friends, but my Dramione heart oof 🤩.

If someone walked upto me saying that I am a witch and have a place at Hogwarts, I would ABSOLUTELY 100% believe them and probably even die due to a heart attack caused by intensely huge amounts of joy, BECAUSE LIKE I WANT IT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE so it’d probably be very easy to play such jokes on me and WATCH ME DIE. i do not ship harry and ginny, and ron and hermoine either BUT ESPECIALLY HARRY AND GINNY, I HATE THAT TOO MUCH. BUT I THOUGHT EVERYONE ELSE SHIPPED THEM SO I’M SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT YOU DON’T EITHER! and did i say that from this day forward demumbridge is my most favorite ship EVER?? so thank you for introducing me to it!
    ALSO ALL THAT HP MERCH I AM SO JEALOUS AND DEMAND SOME PICTURES PLEASE? (i’ve got multiple wands at home that my sister made using a stick and hotglue and paint but THEY LOOK SO REAL??? and that’s the only HP merch i own BUT THEY’RE AMAZING + PRETTY MUCH FREE 😍) ALSO, ALL THE HP SWEETS WOULD BE THE BEST THINGS EVER I DESPERATELY WANT TO DRINK BUTTERBEER SO BAD 😭😭

    2. I would have believed them too like an year ago, but I think growing up has put some sense into me and I know I would just make a fool outta myself so yeah, I would probably come up with some snarky comeback for them, lol.

  9. That Umbridge-Dementor meme, though 🤣🤣🤣
    And I’m still thrilled every time I see we share the same favorite Harry Potter book! Loving Order of the Phoenix is probably one of my more unpopular opinions because so many people complain about Harry being whiny in it. HARRY IS NOT BEING WHINY, PEOPLE! HE JUST HAS A LOT OF SHITTY STUFF TO DEAL WITH!
    I also love Lupin, but I love Professor McGonagall even more 🥰 So the honor of favorite teacher and co-favorite character (with Harry, Hermione, and Ginny) goes to her!
    Your Cursed Child opinions though 🙄 I’m not even going to comment on that. Or on the fact that you don’t ship couples who are clearly perfect for one another 😪

  12. I agree with the demumbridge ship because who doesn’t love that ship? But I kind of disagree with the dramione ship. Like it’s a big NO NO for me, and while Hinny is not as bad, well the movies did them too dirty, but Romione is my favourite ship. Either ways, everybody as their own opinions. And yep, Cursed Child wasn’t as bad as people make it up(Other Potterheads please don’t cancel me) Oh and btw, my fav book and movie is exactly the vice-versa of yours, Ootp is my fav movie and Poa is my fav book;)

      1. I agree, Tom Felton is really good, and I can see the ship stemming from there but if it were about Draco and Hermione, I’m definitely sure, it wouldn’t have been possible in any of the multiverses

      1. Funny thing—–growing up I wanted to be in Gryffindor thanks to The Golden Trio

        I actually have an interesting story in the start of seeing HP——I was scared to see the first film so I tied a blanket around my neck and became “Super Meg”, so she went instead of “Meg”. Crazy saying that

    1. Secretly dating…no wonder is umbridge is so grumpy all the time. She probably managed to steal away the dementor’s soul instead of the other way around 🙂.

  20. I first read Harry Potter when I was 10 and by the way I think your more of a ravenclaw.

    Dramione ship🥰 they just seem perfect together. I think Hermione looks at Ron as a friend. Umbridge and a Dementor😂😂 literally meant for each.

    I started watching HP: The Reunion, didn’t complete it though.

    Though Sirius Black is my favourite Marauder. Sirius is an extremely loyal friend. He Keeps His Promises He is the epitome of a loyal friend. He invests himself in Harry’s life, befriending his friends and teaching him more about his family than he ever would have known otherwise.

      1. Yeah..though I never took a sorting quiz, I think I am a Gryffindor. I think you are a Ravenclaw because a Ravenclaw values intelligence, learning, wisdom and wit. They are also intuitive, quick-thinking, wise and creative. They are really open-minded. Overall, creative and curious. That’s what makes them wise.
        I got bored seeing the reunion 😑. They just talked and talked about behind the scenes.

  21. Ok so I discovered your blog today and I’m loving it hehe😁 I agree with you about the Cursed Child. Reading it wasn’t bad but not amazing either. I think that it’s good fanfiction but not really good enough to be considered a “Harry Potter” book. However, I can’t really agree with you about Dramione because I just kinda don’t get the ship but I’m fine with people who ship it😅I love your writing style soooo much though❤ ALSO YASSSS!!! DEMENTOR X UMBRIDGE!! this might just be my new otp. I’d love to see them kiss too👀

      And thank goodness you agree about The Cursed Child…it was enjoyable enough, but not enough to actually pass as a Harry Potter novel.
      And yeah, I read the titles of one of your posts, the one where you talked about Dramione, I did’t read it but I can tell you- I mostly ship them coz of the actors anyways, hehe.

  23. DEMENTOR AND UMBRIDGE!?! *chokes on air* THAT’S THE BEST THING I’VE HEARD THIS YEAR!!!!! I hated Harry Potter when I read the first book (that’s because my mom told me to read it) but then when i was nine or something, i read the chamber of secrets and then boom…obsessed over the books. I guess my mom kinda regrets introducing me to harry potter…
    TREACLE TART….even the word sounds like some yummy food you have to stop by…amazing post Nehal!

    The reunion wasn’t great but I did like ittt. And wow I don’t remember the cursed child at all?! Remind me to read it again please. ☹

      The actress did a fantastic job of playing umbridge, can’t deny!
