Because life is filled with regrets, even at such a young age *sniff sniff*
Hey Pals!! Today, I will be sharing 5 books that I was not able to read in 2021 (is it weird that I typed this 2020?) but was not able to for no reason other than that I am very moody when it comes to…well, just about everything 🙂.
Nehal’s ghost– BWahaha, you think that was supposed to be funny!? You need a few tips from me, mistress.
Nehal– How the hell did you even come here? I haven’t even died in this post!
Ghost– You mean yet…😏
*Nehal has booed the ghost away*
Utter disgrace! Absolute humiliation! What, in the name of Merlin’s ghost, was I thinking when I hired this nuisance?! Anyways, moving on, let’s get started with the post!
1: Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken

I should have read this book in 2020, and yet I didn’t. And neither did I read it this year. This is the second book in The Darkest Minds series, and I read the first book and loved it! But I was not very keen on reading the second book through the e-book and I barely bought any physical books this year, so I wasn’t able to get my hands on it. There is this local library that opened near my place from where I have been renting all my physical reads so buying wasn’t needed. And hence this series remains unfinished.
2: Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab

This is the final book in the Cassidy Blake series. This is the less popular series by this author. The first book in this series was also the first book I read by this author. At that time I enjoyed it, but it was not all that amazing. It wasn’t unique or even interesting. And I would have finished the series had I cared, but I kind of forgot about it. Maybe someday I will.
3: On The Fence by Kasie West

This cover 😭♥️. I usually don’t go around raving about book covers on my blog, but this is one of those rare cases where I cannot stop myself. It is so good 😭. It kills me looking at it because the guy in the pic LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MY IDEAL CRUSH (which is weird ‘coz I cannot even see his face but that’s not the point). And the cover is so cute! I am so fed up with sad books at this point. I am like- give me something that actually makes me cry or actually makes me laugh, I don’t want to dangle in the middle, it is annoying. I need to read this book for relief from stupid, sad stuff.
4: The Scorch Trials by James Dashner

This is the second book in The Maze Runner series, and well, I am clearly not all that good when it comes to finishing book series’. I read the first book which was amazing! Yeah, it was slow at several parts but overall, it was a great read. But I was always so intimidated by the second book. Not that I think about it, I am intimidated by the second book in all series for some reason 🧐. But yeah, I still think that I should read this one at some point.
5: And Every Morning the Way Home gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman

I have heard so many good things about this book, I cannot even remember if I have read any negative reviews about it on GoodReads, all people have to say about this book is how emotionally wrecked it made them feel…and I am just not sure if I am ready for that? I love books that make me cry because of the death of a character, or two characters finally getting together, etc, but not books that are philosophical or discuss serious aspects of life. And this book is probably about life and whatnot, so I have avoided it. I do want to read it, and I will someday, but I don’t think I’m ready yet.
And we are done. Check out my other post: 5 Books I Meant to Read in 2020 but Just Couldn’t
So, that was all for today! I hope you enjoyed it! Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What book were you unable to read this year even though you really wanted to. Let me know in the comments 😀.

If it helps.. I haven’t read any of these either. 😋

And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer and Longer didn’t necessarily crush me emotionally, but it was definitely hard hitting!
On The Fence sounds so cute and apparently it’s one of her better books, but I’ve still been umming and ahhing about it for ages, dunno why.

Oh, that’s good to hear. I don’t want to endure extreme emotional turmoil 😂.
It does sound cute! I wanna read it too.

If you do want extreme emotional turmoil, read Beartown by Fredrik Backman (same author), That book is intense!

Haven’t read any of these books either. ‘And every morning the way home..’ was on my TBR but I just can’t do emotional books right now.
How is that what your ideal crush will look like? I want deets! You mean tall and well built?

I know right, same!! I want something to make me happy, because the vampire diaries brings enough darkness as it is 🤣.
Oh, you want details 😂. Well, for one thing, he’s wearing a white t shirt and jeans…I mean, I like guys in white t shirts 😛.
And then the pair just looks kinda cute 😃😍.

This is why I never make reading plans – I would never stick to them if I did 🤣 If it helps, though, I have read both Never Fade and The Scorch Trials and wasn’t blown away by either of them… 😅

I don’t make reading plans either. I mean, I make them mentally so that hardly counts 😂.
And oh, it’s really good to know that. Now I know if I don’t end up reading next year, I’m not missing out on much 😌.
