The “I Should Have Read That Book” Tag

Hey Pals!! Today I am doing the… Well, you read the title, of course, soย  I am not gonna repeat, coz I am lazy. Just kidding!! This is the “I Should Have Read That Book” tag. Obviously, I’m doing it even though I wasn’t tagged, but that’s because it’s a fun tag and it has been in my drafts since last year and I’m too busy to write new posts right now what with boards going on ๐Ÿคง. So, let’s do this!!

1: A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

One of my blogger friends, Ashmita, has been begging me to read The Inheritance Games, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, since ages! And I can’t say that I’m not tempted, I’m just not in the mood to read the ebook and the paperback…well, I won’t be able to buy the paperback because, ahem, boards ๐Ÿ™‚. Yes, I do live a happy life, don’t worry *sniffles*.

cAn i gEt a tIsSuE?!

2: A book that’s been on your TBR forever and you still haven’t read the hell out of it

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. This is just such a terrifyingly long book that it intimidates me. It is really popular but it was written by an author who lived so long ago that I am reluctant to pick it up. Yeah, judging books, I know! I can’t help it though. I do think it would be a fantastic read though if I read it eventually.

3: A book in a series you started but haven’t finished

Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. This is the sequel to The Darkest Minds. Once again, I haven’t read it because of the paperback-unavailability thing. I am excited for it because the first book was very good!

4: A classic you have always liked the sound of but never really started

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I have no idea what this book is about but its title, cover, and popularity interest me. So one day, I will read it and know why it’s so freaking loved.

5: A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

You better not unfollow ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ”ช. Yeah, I haven’t read The Fault in our Stars by John Green. I haven’t read any of his books except for Paper Towns and one other that I dnfed. And I see this book everywhere. Everybody loves it so much it does indeed feel like I am the only one who has not read it yet.

6: A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just havenโ€™t read it yet

The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot. I absolutely lurve the movies even though the second one wasn’t based on any book. I still don’t know why I haven’t read these books. Hope to get to them soon.

7: A book you see all over Instagram but havenโ€™t picked up yet

I am not on Instagram~

I tag: Anyone and everyone who wants to do this tag! This was really fun to write and so I would love to read all your answers too!

That’s it. I hope you enjoyed it. Have you read these books? Do you have any of these books on your TBR? too? Let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ˜€.

  1. I found Great Expectations to be awfully boring๐Ÿ˜ฌ
And Hi5 about TFIOS. I have seen both the movies but haven’t read the book. Or any John Green Book.
After boards you should really get on with The Princess Diaries. I didn’t exactly like the movies much coz they differed from the books, soo~

And I can’t wait for tomorrow’s and friday’s exam to be over already๐Ÿ™‚

    Cool post, mistress apple!!

    1. Oh, I think I’m not reading it then ๐Ÿคฃ. I mean, it’s huge anyways!
I’ve not watched the movie of TFIOS either. But I do wanna read the book at some point. See whether I like it or not.
Yes, I will pick up princess diaries soon i guess ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Same. I don’t even want to study for tomorrow’s exam because overconfidence ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ƒ, I am sure to fail.
      Thanks AK17 ๐Ÿ˜‡.

  2. I love Dorian Gray! Evil people should definitely read it ๐Ÿคฃ
And lol, yes, I’m basic and have read The Fault in Our Stars. I don’t adore it from the bottom of my heart, though… It’s a good book, but not one of my favorites ๐Ÿ˜‰ The same goes for The Darkest Minds trilogy – I’ve read the whole thing and liked it, but wasn’t blown away, either. That might just be because I read a bazillion other dystopians before it. I was (**cough am cough**) kind of obsessed with the genre ๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Yes, I will read it eventually!
Well then, if you don’t looove tfios, I guess you’re not basic, because the basic opinion for that book is loving it, hehe.
Oh, I liked the darkest minds book 1, but I am not sure that if I reread it again I will feel the same way because the mc did not have much of a personality.
      And I LOVE DYSTOPIAN TOO!!!!!!!

  3. Nehal, I am considering joining in on the begging for you to read inheritance games, and maybe even bringing some threats along, because IT IS SO GOOD AND ADDICTING AND JUST GENERALLY SO AMAZING, YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!! And no, do not worry, for you aren’t the only one who hasn’t yet graced TFIOS with your magnificent presence *stares at her TBR for an eternity*.
Hope your boards are going well, and GOOD LUCKl!! Loved reading this, Nehal!!!

Oh man same same, too many people have been begging me to read The Inheritance Games, you’re not alone there… and ah high five, fellow person who hasn’t read The Fault in our Stars, I’m a bit too scared of the hype, and Paper Towns wasn’t the best so I think I’ll be skipping it hehe… great post as always! ๐Ÿฅฐ

  6. I accidentally picked up the seventh Princess Diaries book once, and read it~ what can I say? I like it better than the movies (or movie, I should say, since I never finished the second one), despite it being the seventh book. ๐Ÿ™‚โœจ
