The Guilty Reader Book Tag 🤫

Hey Pals!! Today, I am testing just how much of a guilty reader I am (Spoilers: a lot). So, this is me doing The Guilty Reader Book Tag. This was created by a Booktuber named Chami. Her video doesn’t exist anymore because it is private but anyways, it’s a cool tag, so I’m gonna do it today.

Also yeah, I wasn’t tagged by anybody. I’ve had this tag in my drafts folder since last year, when I was new to blogging and didn’t know many book bloggers and just kept writing cool book tag posts I came across. And this is such a cool tag, it would be a shame not to post it when I’ve got it written. Plus, Kathryn @ Kathryn Books kindaaaa tagged me for it, you can say that, I guess. I have other tags that I need to post too that I have actually been tagged for, I’ll get to them too so don’t be mad at me…that being said, let’s dive right in!!

1: Have you ever re-gifted a book you’ve been given?

No, that would be bad, I guess 😂.

2: Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?

I mean, come on!! I have but not really 🤪. I mean I might’ve acted like I have a lot of knowledge about a book someone just said something about just because I have heard a lot about it. And in a sense, I might’ve said yes but still, not really…!! 😛

3: Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

I’ve done that 😳. It’s…it’s a tragic story actually. So right before lockdown happened in India on 22nd March, 2020 (yes, I remember the exact date!), me and one of my friend’s sister exchanged novels. I gave her my Percy Jackson book 1, and she lent me a…well…she lent me a, ahem, *intense coughing*…a Wimpy Kid (HEY, DON’T JUDGE ME! SO WHAT IF I READ WIMPY KID? DO I JUDGE YOU WHEN YOU WAKE UP AT 2 A.M. TO READ EROTICA 😤!?) And the thing is, we never got to meet again because of COVID and now it’s been over a year and we still have each other’s books. So hehe.

4: Have you ever read a series out of order?

For sure! I have read various books in The Famous Five and The Secret Seven and The Naughtiest Girl series by Enid Blyton and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney and all out of order. I mean, in these series it doesn’t really matter if you read them out of order. You just need to know a little bit about the characters and so after the first book, I read any book in these series without bothering to read then chronologically. But if it is a series like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter and similar ones that follow adventures that could spoil what happened before, I read them in order.

5: Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

Yes, I have 😏. It’s so much fun to spoil a book to someone and feel satisfaction at the look of indignance on their face. But I usually do that with friends who have already spoiled a book that I am reading so I do it to take revenge. And sometimes, just for fun, with friends. But don’t worry, it’s safe to read my posts on WordPress. I won’t spoil anyone here 😇.

6: Have you ever dog-eared a book?

No, I haven’t. But I don’t think it’s a bad habit at all. I’m perfectly fine with those who dog-ear their books. I mean, they are your books, you can do whatever you wanna do with them.

7: Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

As far as I can remember, I haven’t done that.

8: Have you ever told someone you haven’t read a book when you have?

Nah, I haven’t done this either. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME, WHY HAVE I NOT DONE MORE GUILTY BOOKISH THINGS?! 😤

9: Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

Omg, I do this all the time. If I am not enjoying a book or I just wanna skip to the part where things actually start happening, I skip the extra portion. If the author is being really descriptive about the scenery, I skip that too. One time, I even skipped a couple of pages in a book because it was so boring.

10: Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?

Nope! I am honest about my opinions towards the books I read 😄.
