To miss you…

When someone leaves you, it doesn’t hit you the way you would expect.

For instance, it doesn’t hit you when you find yourself sleeping alone for the first time in days. It hits you when you realize that you’ve started to feel familiar with the way you close your eyes to pretend that the room isn’t dark and hold on to your blanket as if you need to know someone is there.Β

It doesn’t hit you when you realize that you have to clean your room on your own now that they’re gone. It hits you when you realize that you’ve been doing it for so long now that it feels like the new normal.

It doesn’t hit you when you see that the room is devoid of their smiling face. It hits you when you realize that something just feels off in a way you can’t put your finger on.

It doesn’t hit you when you wonder if you’re ever going to have late-night talks with them again. It hits you when you realize that the miserable quiet of the night seems almost sweet in a painful way.

It doesn’t hit you when you talk to them after days and realize how ordinary it feels. It hits you when you realize that you don’t want to talk to them at all because it’s so much easier not to think about them.

Missing someone doesn’t come all of sudden. It comes slowly. Like the bittersweet transition of summer into autumn. It comes to you just when you think you had learned how to live without that person.

Until you realize that you can’t.

I think this is fiction, yeah πŸ˜—. Hope you enjoyed it!

Six Word Story #14

Hey Pals!! So, today I bring you another six word story, one that randombly came into my head. It’s the bane of existence of 10th and 12th students right now. Here it is:

Boards are from tomorrow. Life’s good πŸ™‚βœ¨.

If I’m less active from now on, know that it’s because I’m studying for boards all day πŸ˜ƒ. If I’m not active at all, know that the said boards killed me πŸ˜ƒ. This is called dark humor kids πŸ˜ƒ.

Lol πŸ™‚.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know any criticism and feedback. Do leave your six word story replies down in the comments πŸ˜€.

The Animal Crossing Book Tag |what is this even supposed to be πŸ€¨?|

Ignore that weird title, and ignore me. I just have no clue as to what this “animal crossing” is supposed to be. It’s a game apparently? Seriously, no idea. When I hear the phrase “animal crossing”, I start thinking of biology and…and hybrids and reproduction and… you know…but let’s not go there πŸ‘€.

Hey Pals!! Today, I am doing The Animal Crossing Book Tag. I was tagged by the lovely Claudia @ Claudia Reads Books. And it sounded really fun! Thanks a lot Claudia for tagging me πŸ˜„. Guys, go check out her amazing site, filled with fun book-tags, reviews and much more. She is on a hiatus right now though. As for the tag, let’s begin!!

The Rules:

  • Please link back to the original creator of the tag, Bookish Things and Tea.
  • Answer the following Animal Crossing themed book questions.
  • Feel free to use graphics, but be sure to credit Bookish Things and Tea.
  • Tag some friends to spread the love!

1: Gamecube- A classic that you want to read

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I am not much of a classic fan, I just don’t like the concept of considering certain books to be “classics” but this is the one that I actually really wanna read. It has a great synopsis, it sounds like a shocking, dark and deep, twisted story and I am dying to read it. So, if you have read it, please let me know your opinion of it in the comments.

2: Wild World- Your favorite second book in a series

Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld. This is the second book in the Leviathan trilogy and it was just amazing. While the action in the first book took a little time to build up, this one started the story with a bang. I loved the whole plot and I couldn’t put this book down because I was waiting…waiting for something to happen. This was the book where I actually felt like these characters had finally found a place in my heart.

3: New Leaf- The best new release you’ve read recently

Um, hehehe…

How about none? 😳

4: City Folk- Your favourite book that is set in a large city

From what I know, Manhattan is a pretty densely populated city in and one of my favorite books, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, takes place in Manhattan. I could be wrong here, about Manhattan being so large, so correct me if I am πŸ˜….

5: Isabelle- A book that’s been with you through thick and thin

Harry Potter…

6: Bells- A book that’s rich with charcater

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. From the most annoyingly dumb to the most inspiringly smart characters, this book series leaves nothing. There is a wide variety of characters that this series has to offer.

7: Pitfall- A book that you wouldn’t mind never seeing again

The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales by the Grimm brothers. This is an exceptionally long book and I only read it because my sister bought it for me. It was a really boring read and half way through I had to DNF it. So, I wouldn’t mind never seeing this book again.

8: Fossil- Your favorite history/historical fiction book

I guess it’ll have to be All The Light We Cannot See. I can’t get over Werner 😭. He’s the best! And this book was such a comfort read. I loved everything about it. World War 2 rocks! 🀩 Wait, no-

Favourite Taylor Swift Lyrics!

Hey Swifties!! Today, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite lyrics from Taylor Swift songs! Beware, this is a long list…

So, before starting, I would like to make a point here that I haven’t heard all the songs by Taylor Swift, for instance I’ve not heard all the songs in The Vault yet, same goes for her debut album. There are also several songs by her that I’ve heard but not heard enough to remember the lyrics. But yeah, I’ve heard most of her songs an hence I’m gonna choose some favourite lyrics from those 😁. Now, let’s get started!!

Note: This list is in no particular order. And not all of these are necessarily my favourite songs. I’m just highliting my favourite lyrics from her songs.

Check out my other post: My Favourite Song Lyrics– when I wrote this post, I didn’t include any TS songs, because so many of her lyrics are so good. And several of you thought another version of this with only TS songs would be fun, so here we are! Let’s do it!!

1: All Too Well (Red)

Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it
I’d like to be my old self again
But I’m still trying to find it

Honestly, all lines of this song are perfect, it’s hard to choose. But this line is the ultimate best. It’s so pure and raw, and so heartbreaking! And the way she sings it, so soft, is lovely.

2: Begin Again (Red)

I’ve been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does
Is break and burn, and end

The- break and burn, and end part is so sad. The way her voice rises at first and then gets so low at this line just shows the depth of it.

3: I Knew You Were Trouble (Red)

And I realize the joke is on me.

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I’d never been
Now I’m lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

When your saddest fear comes creeping in
That you never loved me or her or anyone or
Anything
Yeah

This song is just classy! I mean it’s so cool to sing when you’re happy and so hard-hitting when you’re thinking deeply into the lyrics. The “oh, oh, trouble, trouble” part is so well sung 😍.

4: Come Back..Be Here (Red)

I told myself, don’t get attached
But in my mind, I play it back
Spinning faster than the plane that took you

Taxi cabs and busy streets
That never bring you back to me

This is such an underrated song! And it deserves to be among her most popular ones. Isn’t it just purely beautiful?! I mean, what’s not to like? Okay, maybe it’s a little clichΓ©, but it’s still so awesome!

5: White Horse (Fearless)

I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale
I’m gonna find someone someday
Who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rear-view mirror disappearing now
And it’s too late for you and your white horse
To catch me now

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now

I love how Taylor started it as her being like the victim of the love story depicted in this song, and then towards the end, she’s a lot more hopeful, and says how she believes there’s someone better out there for her 😌. True indeed!

6: Mr. Perfectly Fine (The Vault)

Hello Mr. “Perfectly fine”
How’s your heart after breakin’ mine?

Okay, so I actually just heard this song for the second time right now, and noticed the lyrics and stuff, and realized I love it! I mean, it’s so funny and sad at the same time, I don’t know what to feel. “How’s your heart after breaking mine”- this line 😧. It’s supposed to be so sad but the way she wrote the lyrics and sang them makes it a little more satirical instead of hurting. It’s very savage, kind of reminds me of Good 4 U by Olivia Rodrigo…I mean both the songs remind me of each other. Also, the ending is so sad. It’s like, throughout the song, Taylor’s just mocking this guy and then the end makes you finally think about the hurt she feels. It’s awesome!

7: Picture To Burn (Taylor Swift)

In case you haven’t heard
I really, really hate that
Stupid old pickup truck you never let me drive
You’re a redneck heartbreak, who’s really bad at lying
So watch me strike a match on all my wasted time
As far as I’m concerned, you’re just another picture to burn

Burn, burn, burn, baby, burn

✨ vIcIoUs! ✨

8: Mean (Speak Now)

But all you are is mean
All you are is mean
And a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life
And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

This is indeed the perfect song for bullies. Especially this part, Taylor sang it with so much savageness, oof. *chef’s kiss* I just realized that’s the first time I ever used the phrase “chef’s kiss” πŸ‘€.

9: Back To December (Speak Now)

And then the cold came, the dark days
When fear crept into my mind
You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye

I always think that the songs where Taylor talks about how she hurt the person instead of the other way round hit really hard. This song is so sincere. I love how she feels so sorry for the person she hurt and would do anything to change what she did.

10: Ours (Speak Now)

And don’t you worry your pretty, little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
But they can’t take what’s ours
They can’t take what’s ours.
The stakes are high, the water’s rough
But this love is ours

This song is so cute 😍.

11: Don’t Blame Me (Reputation)

They say she’s gone too far this time

Don’t blame me, love made me crazy
If it doesn’t, you ain’t doin’ it right
Lord, save me, my drug is my baby
I’d be usin’ for the rest of my life

Ooh, this lyric is so cool. The high notes in this song are to die for! Dark, dark dark! *insert the fire emoji coz I can’t find it*

12: Look What You Made Me Do (Reputation)

I’m sorry
But the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now
Why? Oh, ’cause she’s dead

I freaking love this album! Do you have any idea how hard it is to choose favourite lyrics from what is possibly the biggest masterpiece the world has ever heard 😭. Taylor is so much more full of herself in this one, so different from speak now, and fearless. We love dark Taylor 🀩.

13: Blank Space (1989)

But you’ll come back each time you leave
‘Cause, darling, I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream

Hands down, this line will live on for generations πŸ™Œ.

14: Shake It Off (1989)

Hey, hey, hey
Just think while you’ve been gettin’ down and out about the liars
And the dirty, dirty cheats of the world
You could’ve been gettin’ down
To this sick beat

This is definitely not one of my favourite songs by Taylor, but I really adore this lyric. And when you sing it, it sounds so cool!

15: Clean (1989)

Rain came pouring down
When I was drowning, that’s when I could finally breathe

The irony! I have only heard this song thrice, but these two lines are so well-written. And the visual imagery is fabulous!

16: Cruel Summer (Lover)

Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes
And if I bleed, you’ll be the last to know

“I love you, ” ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard?
He looks up grinning like a devil

The “grinning like a devil” part…boy, I cannot get over it! I mean, it gives me chills thinking about it (kinda). And obviously, the dice line is just pure clever!

17: I Forgot That You Existed (Lover)

I forgot that you existed
I did, I did, I did
It isn’t hate, it’s just indifference

Hehe, the perfect roast to all her exes, I am sure. You go, girl!

18: Death By A Thousand Cuts (Lover)

You said it was a great love
One for the ages
If the story’s over
Why am I still writing pages?…

…My heart, my hips, my body, my love
Trying to find a part of me that you didn’t touch…

…Gave you too much but it wasn’t enough
But I’ll be all right, it’s just a thousand cuts

I find the best thing about Taylor is that she uses all these sad moments to make fun songs, which is so awesome! Anyone who can do that…I stan them! This entire song is just too good!!

19: My Tears Ricochet (folklore)

You wear the same jewels that I gave you
As you bury me

This is one of my favourite songs by lyrics because it’s so dark, and so ironic! This entire song has a very tragic vibe to it.

20: cardigan (folklore)

You drew stars around my scars
But now I’m bleedin’

How does she do it?! Write so metaphorically?! I could never…!! And I’m supposed to choose only a limited number of lyrics 🀧.

21: champagne problems (evermore)

I dropped your hand while dancing
Left you out there standing
Crestfallen on the landing
Champagne problems

Your mom’s ring in your pocket
My picture in your wallet
Your heart was glass, I dropped it
Champagne problems

I love singing this song and imagining I have an oh-so-sweet voice, when the truth is that I don’t πŸ˜ƒ. But, these lyics are devastating! Like I said, Taylor’s songs about her hurting the other person hit really hard!

22: no body, no crime (evermore)

Good thing his mistress took out a big life insurance policy

This one time I played this song after midnight. Me and my sister were at my uncle’s house, in a city located in a very hilly region, like it was a place where we could literally sometimes see the Himalayas, covered with snow. And I played it after 2a.m. and we were alone in this room and my “elder” sister freaked out 🀣. ‘Twas an amazing night, lol. This particular lyric is so scary. The high note gives me goosebumps!

Phew! That was all. This post took me about 5 hours to finish, and I still missed some of my favorite lyrics 😭. So, you better comment something really nice or it will be a waste, and I will be very angry…and you don’t want to see me when I’m angry πŸ™‚βœ¨. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know a Taylor Swift lyric that is one of your favourites, in the comments!

Ps- I left a Taylor Swift related easter egg in the post, can you find it? Hint- why was the list of lyrics so long?

3 Things To Do When You’re Having A Bad Day

Hey Pals!! So recently, the increasing Covid cases in my country, as well as in several others, and with the incoming news of close family members’ deaths, I’ve noticed that it’s having a really bad impact on the mental health of so many people worldwide. Despite that, the negative air that seems to have engulfed the whole world is shoving itself upon us in ways I didn’t know were possible (oh, I know the COVID cases have reduced in India now, I wrote this intro long ago when they were still high).

That’s me, wiping your tears, if you’re sad.

You’ve probably lost someone recently, you’ve probably just fought with a friend, you’ve probably just said things to someone and regret it now, you’re probably hurting within and nobody knows. This post is my way of trying to make you feel better. If in any way, it helps you, nothing can make me happier.

So, here are: 3 things you can do to feel happier.

Note: I’m not a professional. I’m just sharing stuff that I find a little useful, in the hope that maybe it ends up helping someone.

1: Take a bath and then wear your best clothes:

This may sound very trivial and insignificant, but my experience has led me to the conclusion that what we wear and how we dress, can have a big impact on our moods. Looking good makes you feel good, and it can be a big motivator on a bad day.

Now, I know we don’t look like this after having a bath, I personally look like I just had a hair experiment that went wrong, but well…πŸ™‚

Especially on a day when you wake up with a sour mood, I highly recommend taking a pleasing bath, and dressing in not just the random clothes you wear daily, but spicing things up a little. How about taking out your denim cutoffs and putting them on with your favourite white minion’s shirt that your mom does not let you wear because you will “stain” it πŸ™„, but come on, she can give you one day’s freedom now, can’t she!? Comb your hair, and though I’m not one for makeup, if it suits you, go apply some mascara and eye shadow and top it off with your favourite lip gloss and bam! When you look in the mirror, you will see the new you!

2: Instead of screaming and shouting, let it out by singing…or as close to singing as it gets:

Go somewhere where you are alone, like your house’s rooftop, or just shut the door of your bedroom and switch on the fan of your room so the voice drowns out any other sounds. Then put your headphones/earphones on, play your favourite song, one that always gets you to lip-sync or one that always makes you want to dance. Then do what!? Sing it! Yes, that’s a command. Believe me, nobody cares if you sound like a drowning duck, plus nobody can hear you. And if they do, who cares!? Scream your lungs out 🀩. Dance your butt off 🀩. Break a leg 🀩. Break both legs 🀩. Honestly, sometimes when I’m in a bad mood, I start jumping up and down on my bed at an upbeat song, shouting at the top of my voice, doing something that can be associated as the grandmother of crazy dancing (okay, that only happened two times, but that’s because I’m kinda shy when it comes to singing, hehe). It might help!

3: Get out of the house:

Oh yeah, not ignoring the fact that we got our favourite uncle- Uncle COVID governing our lives, but if your parents allow you, you can go to your park for evening strolls, you can even play badminton with your siblings or any friends who live nearby. You can go cycling, or drive/learn an activa or any other two-wheeler or even a car if you’re old enough. You can even legit just go to your rooftop, anywhere, just get out of your FREAKING HOUSE I DON’T CARE HOW! JUST DO IT! You need a change of scenery, sometimes going through the same, dull routine every day can be a reason for feeling empty. Maybe you’re feeling down because nothing is happening in your life, you need to spice things up, bring a change to your usual routine. Even looking outside the window can act as a relief from your own life when you see so many people going about their day.

That’s all I have. I was going to make this post about 5 points, but apart from these three I couldn’t think of anything different, just the usual stuff like, you know, distract yourself, do something you love, etc etc. So I decided to just share three.

That’s all! Hope you enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any more suggestions on what one can do to feel better on a bad day, down in the comments πŸ˜€.

Broken

I feel a little empty inside,
A little dejected.
I feel like a cloud has swallowed me,
A cloud that is grey,
And dark.
And I don’t know what to do to about it.

I feel a little empty inside,
A little dejected.
I involve myself in my favorite things,
But don’t take part in them.
I want to,
But I can’t.
And I don’t know what to do about it.

I feel a little empty inside,
A little dejected.
I feel like the world is moving on,
And I’m just drifting along with it,
Alone and lost,
Not knowing or caring where I’m going.
And I don’t know what to do about it.

I feel a little empty inside,
A little dejected.
As if I’ve lost the meaning,
Of everything that once meant the world to me.
I feel passive, inactive.
And so tired.
And I don’t know what to do about it.

I feel a little empty inside,
A little dejected.
And I don’t know what to do about it,
And I am not sure if I want to,
Not sure if I can.

I feel like I’m broken.

~Nehal

Don’t worry, ’tis fiction. Hope you liked reading it, a bit intense though it was.

Ps– A very very happy badday to Kripaa @ Dream Diaries! Hope you have the awesomest day, lah!! πŸ˜ƒπŸŽ‰ And send me a slice of the cake too 🀩.

Reacting to your assumptions about me! Part 2

Hey Pals!! So, as you might know, I recently did the first part of reacting to your assumptions about me. If you missed it, check it out here 😁. Today, I’ll be doing reacting to the rest of the assumptions y’all had for me. So, let’s get started!!

Note: I have skipped 3-4 assumptions because they were repeated, so the post does not get too long.

Sep @ Bookishly Yours

1. When you copy paste, this perfect bit of text, you’re wondering how lucky you are, that you got to meet the wonderful Sep- Am I though? πŸ™‚

2. You’re now wondering how highly I think of myself-

4. You definitely didn’t notice I ate up number three- Actually I did 😎 *lies*

5. You have an irl crush but you’re too stubborn to accept it- I mean…I used to, hehe.

6. You know it’s boards year, yet whenever you decide to give up on books, you can’t- You’re kidding me, I never decide to give up on books. Actually I did take a break from reading for 1.5 months, but I managed to squeeze in some audiobooks and stuff here and there.

7. You have tons of irl friends who know your blog- Yeah, and they support me too!!

8. You think I’m amazing- Are didi, you are the most brilliant, amazing, fantastically awesome, smart and the excellentest human to ever exist. And who am I to say? I’m just a tiny piece of dirt in you shoes.

9. You’re so sick of copy pasting all these, that you just want to * hide *– No, but I do wanna sleep!

10. YOU SECRETLY LOVE THIS EMOJI πŸ™‚- No, I hate it. The fact that I use it so much is because it has ruined me forever, hmph!

11. You want to marry Voldemort because his looks are to die for– Absolutely not. Why would I want to die for the looks of someone who does not even have a nose?!

Wizardozo

πŸ™‚ This is ur lifeline- As much as I hate to admit it, yes it is.

U like history and hate bio- Hehe, true.

U live in I phone’s half-eaten Apple logo- Maybe πŸ˜‚.

U r an introvert– I think I am more of an ambivert.

Akshita @ Anthology of Akshita’s Thoughts

1. You secretly love Shakespeare- I mean, some of his plays are nice. But he does have a very weird writing style, so that’s one thing.

2. You also love-hate the emoji πŸ™‚- I hate this emoji, even though I cannot live without it, so yup. Man the amount of assumptions regarding this emoji is driving me crazy.

3. Boards and exams are forgotten when a book exists- Lol, yeah.

4. You love desserts– Oh yeah, I really do.

Panna @ State Of Craze

1. You like vanilla ice cream. Not love. But you are ok with it- Yeah, it’s fine. I mean, it’s ice-cream, and no ice-cream can be bad, hehe.

2. You think pizza is not that great- Oh no, I absolutely love pizza! I’m very picky when it comes to pizzas, but I really like them.

3. If Leo Valdez was not just a fictional character, but a real human, then you’d let him go to Pannaga (as in date Pannaga)– Ugh yeah. I would let you have him. As much as it would kill my soul to see him go, I would bear it, because he deserves someone like you, and I’ll want you to have him because you love him so much.

4. You now have two bffs in the blogosphere, tee and Pannaga- What about Riddhi and Ashmita, lol. You’re all my lovely blogosphere bffs πŸ˜ƒ.

5. You now have two different friend groups in the blogosphere, one being Riddhi, Tee, and Aanya. The other, Ash and Pannaga- Yeah. I do.

6. You still love blogging as much as you did the day you started it- Sadly no. Things were a lot more fun last year or in May-June of this year because there were so many people who ere still active. I do love blogging now, but it’s less fun. But yeah don’t worry, I’m never going to give up on it or something, its too precious.

7. You are not really satisfied with your blog name– Actually, I kinda am. But it seems like you aren’t πŸ€”?

8. Even though, your blog is a book blog, you like posting other stuff more than bookish stuff- Yeah, I mean I prefer “talking” about books. It’s easier to speak than write. That’s why I usually post less bookish content as compared to other stuff.

10. You love geography, but hate social science- Wait, weren’t social science and geography the same thing 😳..* proceeds to have an existential crisis*

9. You will post more happy poems from now onwards- Why does this sound like an order instead of an assumption? And no! I won’t! I mean, I want to but I can’t! I can’t write happy stuff easily, it’s really hard for me. Be glad you’re getting some dry humour in my other posts πŸ˜‡, I’m doing you a favor.

11. You are not as sarcastic/ I-don’t-give-a-shit kinda girl as you let people assume- You really think that *sniff sniff* I mean, I do give a “shit” about a good number of things, I even think it’s unhealthy, but I also don’t give a “shit” about a lot of stuff, so I guess it’s even.

12. You are a complete softie inside. Not all people get to see that part of you- You want to make me cry, don’t you πŸ˜•? How do you manage to make me so emotional?! That’s a really sweet thing to say.

13. You like 13- No, it’s a weird number. I don’t believe in it being unlucky but I don’t like it in general.

Naomi @ TheSocietyToStopCLimateChange

1. You love love love emojis- Yes, I do 😘πŸ₯²πŸ₯΄πŸ˜‘πŸ€πŸ’©πŸ˜³πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈπŸ€€πŸ˜ΌπŸ’πŸ¦„πŸ›πŸ€πŸͺ³

2. You don’t like apples- Oh boy, you couldn’t have been more wrong. I can’t live without apples, they help me survive!

3. You can’t choose a favorite book- I do have one that I would call my favorite, but it might change.

Aadhya @ Adyas Diary

You like reading- Not at all, I depside reading, that’s why I have a book blog πŸ˜ƒ.
You don’t like pizza- I do!! *starts drooling*
You like apples- Yes!!
You have glasses- Yeah sadly.
You have short brown hair with light tips– Well, I have short light-brown-ish hair which you might mistake for black unless you are talking to me up close.

Rayna @ Ray’s Realm

1. You think Olivia is overrated but love her anyway- I don’t think Olivia is overrated, I really love her songs!

2. You think I’m awesome- Absolutely not πŸ˜ƒ. Lol, I’m kidding. You’re awesome.

3. You already love Keefe- Thanks to you, yes I do, even though I haven’t even read the series in which he is!

4. You haven’t been reading much fantasy- That is true. I like stories that are fantasy but I am kinda done with new worlds and world-building and stuff.

5. You want to steal my beautiful watchΒ πŸ™‚- Are πŸ˜‚. Why would you say that πŸ₯Ί? I am a nice bacha, I don’t steal stuff, hmph. *starts eyeing her watch devilishly*

Definitely Moi @ Bookish Blunders

1. You love the HP books, but aren’t a die-hard Potterhead. Like, you wouldn’t dream of…say, chanting satanic rituals to merge with the universe where Hogwarts exists and go avada kedavra some Voldemorts.– See, the thing is, over the years my love for Harry Potter has kind of decreased. And don’t say you hate me because you have no idea as to how much it hurts to not be able to feel the same way about it. I mean, I have been rereading Goblet of Fire and it’s literally been over two months and I haven’t been able to finish it. But if I do come across any rituals that might help me merge with the universe, ahem, I would do that without a second thought.

2. You’ve watched at least one movie before reading the book.– Yeah, I watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children…and even though I cannot remember, I might have definitely watched a few more movies without having read the book first.

3. You have way too many gifs to share that you just can’t because storage capacity is brutal.– Actually no. I mean I do have lots of weird GIFs that I love, but I don’t like sharing them unless they are relevant to my posts.

4. You’re frequently perceived as being sarcastic even when you genuinely aren’t– Yes, that happens a lot! 🀭

5. You don’t like to celebrate your birthdays very much (Too many greetings and things…The presents aren’t bad, though)– Are you kidding me? I love to celebrate my birthdays! I mean I love it when there’s a party and stuff, and my friends come and we have fun, the presents are obviously DA BEST part!

By the way, my birthday is coming 🀩. Don’t forget to wish me 🀩. There’s just four months left 🀩. Just four 🀩. So less time, I know πŸ™‚. I can’t wait 🀩.

6. You love spicy stuff more than sweet things– Nah, I have a sweeter tooth than a spicier one.

7. You know full well that I’m the single most important being in the entire universe πŸ™‚– My assumption post is filled with narcissists πŸ™„. Sure, you are indeed the single most important being in the entire universe, Moi πŸ™‚.

Anita @ Anna’s Styles

You have a cool sense of humor– I mean, that is for you to decide, not me, heh.

You’re a wild card– I don’t really know. I think it depends upon how well you know me. My mom is the only person who can predict how I’ll react to a certain thing. And I experience mood swings very easily, so I guess I am a wild card…I don’t know.

You don’t trust easily– I end up trusting my friends easily, nobody else. I’m the kind of person who usually speaks too much and tells too much without realizing. It’s not been a nice experience so I need to change that, lol.

You’re a critical thinker– Yes, I am indeed.

You love reading– Like I said before, no, not at all, in fact my book blog is run by a secret alien, not me πŸ˜ƒ.

Poorwa @ Poorwa’s blog

1. Hindi is your favorite language– Yes, I’m proud of my mother-tongue (that’s a word, right?)

2. You are very happy today– I was very frustrated, then I got better. You know, typical 15-year-old.

3. You don’t miss your school at all (now I do the same)- I do! My offline school has started and I try to attend as much as possible, I love school!

4. You’re bored answering my boring assumptions– No, I’m having fun! πŸ˜‚

5. When I was on hiatus you realized how much you love me- That is so true. And you know, I still miss you. I mean you’re not that active now either. But I know, 12th standard, so it’s fine.

Anoushka @ Dipped In Ink

1. Umm, you are a human (see? I’m so smart! I will definitely get that right)- Yes, you did get it right. Congrats, very good job πŸ™‚πŸ‘.

2. You dream of becoming an author– I do, I would love to have just one book out that people actually read.

3. You are from North India– Close…

Kunjal @ Duo Dessiminators

You are a totally frank person. Maybe you are a tomboy (I am not sure). Ofc you are a bibliophile. For looks I am not sure, it always turns out different– These are all correct except I do not know if I am a tomboy or not, because technically all I do all day is read, chat, and blog, which definitely doesn’t define a tomboy.

You are a very cool and no drama person.πŸ˜ƒ- Definitely not, my life in itself is a drama, lol.

Krithika

You’re weird. You love to read. You’re β€˜cute’- Uh um…the first two are correct, the last one, how can I answer that, lol.

You live in a house shaped like an apple.- How I wish I could!

You like worms.- What, no!

You have BLACKISH BROWNISH hair- Yes!

You wear wayfarer glasses (I do too!!)– No, but I used to. I currently wear cat-eye shaped glasses.

Rabhya @ Rab’s Bookish Planet

You probably like apples but the irony here is that An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away but You wear specs so now you don’t like apples– That’s the biggest tragedy of my life 😭😭.

Ashmita @ the fictional journal

— U have a thing for curtains. πŸ™‚ (Idk where that came from)- Why would I 🀨?

– U hate soft toys. (Idk where this came from either)- No, I love those babies, they are cute!

– U love chins 😍 (we both know where this came from)- God no *shudders*. This one cane from this book I read in which the main character keeps fantasizing about kissing her boyfriend’s chi– but you don’t need to know that πŸ™‚. I’m just gonna say, that the book has ruined me for chins and I’m never looking at chins THE SAME WAY EVER AGAIN!

– U hate other people with the name β€œnehal”- Indeed, I despise them (well, not exactly) 😀! I mean, my name is just my name, hmph!

– 12.53 is your favourite time. Am or pm.- Um…

– world assassination is a dream come true ☠️- Um…

– u hate earphones πŸ’’- Oh! A normal assumption! How come?! Indeed, I do dislike earphones. They hurt my ears.

– ur favorite attire is that of a clown 🀑– Um…

– and lastly, u don’t know what to do with my comment- EXACTLY! WHAT THE HELL WERE THESE EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE, WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM?! 😡

So, that was all! The final part of the assumptions posts, which was a delight to write. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know a common assumption most people have of you, that is often incorrect, in the comments πŸ˜€.

Discussion Post: 5 Popular Book Series I Will Probably Never Read

We all love some unpopular opinions now, don’t we?

Hey Pals!! Today, I am going to be talking about 5 popular series that I do not think I will ever read.

Disclaimer: *sighs* I do not mean to insu-a-a-a *yawns* alt any book *yawns* or autho-o-o-or through my pos– *dies of boredom*.

*Nehal’s ghost has replaced her*

cAn yOu StOp dYiNg uNcErEmOnIoUsLy!? I wAs iN tHe MiDdLe oF tHe VeRy iMpOrTaNt TaSk oF eAtInG cHeEtOs, wHicH bTw, I dOn’T eVeN kNoW wHaT tHeY aRe!

*Nehal has kicked the ghost out*

Thanks for thine help, thou art a disgrace to me πŸ™‚.

So anyways, moving forward, let’s start the post!

1: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Ahem, so first off, I don’t think I like the covers anymore. They do look great when Booktubers hold them up in their hands but uh, really not my type though. So basically, I watched this video, which if you want a good laugh on a bad day, you should watch too.

But the video has some a lot of crude humour so watch at your own risk. I binge-watched Cindy’s reviews for all the books in this series in one go and laughed my head off and my day got a whole lot better…and yes, I realized that this series is not for me 😌.

I’ve read Throne of Glass but I dnfed the series in the middle of the second book, not because it was bad or anything, but because I was just not finding it a book that is “of my type”, not my comfort zone basically. I am not a fan of high fantasy and world building. I know most people love it but I don’t usually care for settings and various dangers on worlds that are new to me, for some reason. I also do not feel myself inclined towards fairies as main characters. Acotar has that too and I am pretty sure that there is no point in reading it. Plus it is very smutty, as Cindy has made sure to point out all too well. And these books are so huge! And now I basically know the entire story and I really don’t think I’ll like it. I don’t wanna force myself to read something I won’t like.

2: The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

I know, I know, you want to kill me. But beware, it’ll only end up in my ghost taking over and annoying the hell outta you~

Okay so, I’ve had a bad experience with this author. I tried reading The Final Empire but I’m still stuck at page 100, it’s just so boring 😭. And people keep saying how great it is, but I’m just sick of Kelsier smiling at every little thing…I mean, how much can anyone smile?! I’m telling you, every time he smiles, I cry. It’s like- Kelsier smiled πŸ™‚, Nehal cried ☹. I will still try to push my way through this book after exams, till then, I’ll remove every single book by this author from my TBR pile.

It’s not even that I do not want to read this series, I would love to give it a shot but I am just so freaking intimidated by the amount of pages. I mean, the first book is over a thousand pages and I know that Sanderson’s writing is really slow and people struggle through this series so I just cannot bring myself to pick it up anytime soon. I wish I could, but I can’t. And seriously, no offense to anyone, it’s just not for me.

3: The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

14 books πŸ’©.

I’m sorry, has there been a mistake?!

*frantically googles how many books are in this series*

Google- 20 πŸ™‚.

I’ve officially lost all hope in humanity BECAUSE THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Something about the ugliness of the cover of the first book in this series intrigues me and makes me want to pick it up. But it’s also giving me Lord Of The Rings vibe and that was another book series that didn’t work for me…I am sorry to all the people who are hardcore fans of this series, but I can’t torture myself by committing to something this long. I’m the kind of person who gets scared when someone says “trilogy”, you can’t expect me to read 14 books, it’ll kill me!

4: His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman

This series has got some really mixed opinions on GoodReads. Many people think that this was a really slow series and to be honest, the fact that it is high fantasy is just enough for me to not want to pick it up. This was actually on my tbr pile but the only time that I see myself picking this up is if I actually get the physical copy of the series. I am just not drawn to it, you know? Like I don’t feel myself wanting to read it. Maybe this could turn out to be one of the best books I have ever read if I do read it, but I don’t really think that will ever happen.

5: Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

This is the one series on this list that I wish I had read this earlier, like when I was 13 or something. I have no idea if I’ll like it when I read it now or not, and a part of me is dying to pick up the first book and read it right now! But first off, I am not at all excited about reading a long series using all ebooks, second- my bookshelf is full, so my parents ain’t allowing me to buy books too πŸ˜’, and third- just in case I do get addicted to this series, it’ll be a bad influence on my studies…plus yeah, a bigger part of me just knows I don’t wanna read it because it’s so long and I don’t think it’ll be that good. Who knows though? Maybe I’ll give it a shot someday…maybe.

So, that’s all for me. I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? Should I give them a shot? Is there a popular book that you have no interest in reading? Let me know in the comments πŸ˜€.

Ps– Before ending this post, I would just like to wish my buddy- Ashmita, a very happy birthday! I know she ain’t gonna do much, but I hope she has an awesome day!! Happy cake day, our dear ghost πŸ‘». Love you loads!! πŸ«πŸŽ‚βœ¨

The Guilty Reader Book Tag πŸ€«

Hey Pals!! Today, I am testing just how much of a guilty reader I am (Spoilers: a lot). So, this is me doing The Guilty Reader Book Tag. This was created by a Booktuber named Chami. Her video doesn’t exist anymore because it is private but anyways, it’s a cool tag, so I’m gonna do it today.

Also yeah, I wasn’t tagged by anybody. I’ve had this tag in my drafts folder since last year, when I was new to blogging and didn’t know many book bloggers and just kept writing cool book tag posts I came across. And this is such a cool tag, it would be a shame not to post it when I’ve got it written. Plus, Kathryn @ Kathryn Books kindaaaa tagged me for it, you can say that, I guess. I have other tags that I need to post too that I have actually been tagged for, I’ll get to them too so don’t be mad at me…that being said, let’s dive right in!!

Wow, my intros are getting longer, after all. And it is not a good sign 😞.

1: Have you ever re-gifted a book you’ve been given?

No, that would be bad, I guess πŸ˜‚.

2: Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?

I mean, come on!! I have but not really πŸ€ͺ. I mean I might’ve acted like I have a lot of knowledge about a book someone just said something about just because I have heard a lot about it. And in a sense, I might’ve said yes but still, not really…!! πŸ˜›

3: Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

I’ve done that 😳. It’s…it’s a tragic story actually. So right before lockdown happened in India on 22nd March, 2020 (yes, I remember the exact date!), me and one of my friend’s sister exchanged novels. I gave her my Percy Jackson book 1, and she lent me a…well…she lent me a, ahem, *intense coughing*…a Wimpy Kid (HEY, DON’T JUDGE ME! SO WHAT IF I READ WIMPY KID? DO I JUDGE YOU WHEN YOU WAKE UP AT 2 A.M. TO READ EROTICA 😀!?) And the thing is, we never got to meet again because of COVID and now it’s been over a year and we still have each other’s books. So hehe.

4: Have you ever read a series out of order?

For sure! I have read various books in The Famous Five and The Secret Seven and The Naughtiest Girl series by Enid Blyton and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney and all out of order. I mean, in these series it doesn’t really matter if you read them out of order. You just need to know a little bit about the characters and so after the first book, I read any book in these series without bothering to read then chronologically. But if it is a series like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter and similar ones that follow adventures that could spoil what happened before, I read them in order.

5: Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

Yes, I have 😏. It’s so much fun to spoil a book to someone and feel satisfaction at the look of indignance on their face. But I usually do that with friends who have already spoiled a book that I am reading so I do it to take revenge. And sometimes, just for fun, with friends. But don’t worry, it’s safe to read my posts on WordPress. I won’t spoil anyone here πŸ˜‡.

6: Have you ever dog-eared a book?

No, I haven’t. But I don’t think it’s a bad habit at all. I’m perfectly fine with those who dog-ear their books. I mean, they are your books, you can do whatever you wanna do with them.

7: Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

As far as I can remember, I haven’t done that.

8: Have you ever told someone you haven’t read a book when you have?

Nah, I haven’t done this either. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME, WHY HAVE I NOT DONE MORE GUILTY BOOKISH THINGS?! 😀

9: Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

Omg, I do this all the time. If I am not enjoying a book or I just wanna skip to the part where things actually start happening, I skip the extra portion. If the author is being really descriptive about the scenery, I skip that too. One time, I even skipped a couple of pages in a book because it was so boring.

10: Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?

Nope! I am honest about my opinions towards the books I read πŸ˜„.

I Tag: Anyone and Everyone who wants to do this tag πŸ˜ƒ. I would love to read your answers so let me know if you make a post or just comment the answers below of you don’t feel like making a blog of it.

Plus, it won’t be right to tag anyone when I wasn’t tagged either πŸ˜‚.

Six Word Story #13

Hey Pals! So today, I bring before you another six word story that I came up with. Lemme know how you like it! Here it is:

“I’m not okay,” I type. Delete.

I remember Shweta di @ My Random Ramblings once posting the prompt “Delete” for 6WSP way back. This story is inspired by that. I remember I thought hard but was not able to think of anyting. Suddenly it just popped up in my head and I thought of this sentence and whoa, there you go. Hope you liked it.
