The Currently Reading Book Tag

Hey Pals!! Today, I am doing The Currently Reading Book Tag. I like this tag a lot, it’s fun and even has nice questions. I was kindaaa tagged for this by Naemi @ A Book Owl’s Corner. Don’t ask why I used kindaaa here, it’s an embarrassing tale πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒ. So anyways, let’s do the tag!

1. How many books do you usually read at once?

Four to five usually because I just can’t stay committed to one book. There would always be other books asking for my attention and I gotta listen to my books because they always behave well with me. But sometimes, I read less when on a tight schedule. I’ll be reading three audiobooks, one physical book, one reread, etc etc 😜.

2. If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch to reading the other book?

I have no particular order. I just read whichever book I feel like in the mood for and whichever one is more close to me (here, I mean a book that is lying close to me, could be in any format). Many times, I focus on the book that I should finish within a particular time because of a deadline.

3. Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re part way through a book?

No, I don’t. I might’ve done that once maybe but not that I can remember.

These are some of the bookmarks I have made in the past few years.

4. Where do you keep the book(s) you’re currently reading?

My physical reads can usually be found lying anywhere but my bookshelf and my e-books and audiobooks are in my phone πŸ“± and laptop πŸ’».

5. What time of day do you spend the most time reading?

I have never really thought about that and it’s honestly really hard to say. I don’t know when I read the most because I don’t have a fixed time or schedule. Sometimes, I even read during my online classes 🀨. But I think I read more at any time in the day 🌞 than in the night 🌟.

6. How long do you typically read for in one go?

Totally depends on my interest in the book and the amount of time I can spare without feeling guilty for not studying πŸ€“ and the amount of time I can keep the fact that I am reading hidden from my father 🀫. Yeah, coz he knows I read way too much and scolds me from time to time 😬.

7. Do you read hard covers with the dust jacket on or off?

Sometimes on, sometimes off. If I feel like the cover is irritating me or is being damaged I remove it. Otherwise not.

8. Which position do you mainly use to read?

If it’s an e-book or physical book, then I prefer to read with my back straight (though I forget and later find myself leaning back 😐). I read audiobooks lying on my bed or while doing yoga or just sitting and doing… absolutely nothing!

9. Do you take the book you’re currently reading with you everywhere you go?

Mostly yes. I usually take my phone πŸ“± (which has most of the books I read) with me wherever I go, but not always.

10. How often do you update your progress in the book you’re currently reading on Goodreads?

I don’t, usually. I just mark the book as finished once it’s done.

I Tag: Everyone who wants to do this tag. If you do this tag, let me know. I would love to read you answers 🀩.

That’s all. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know how many books you typically read at once, down in the comments.

  1. I remember being in school and reading 3-4 books at the same time, cause they had to be returned to the library next week. Now I read 1 book at a time and find it hard to keep up.
Funnily I read more often at night and if the book is good I don’t stop reading till morning. πŸ™ˆ

    1. Oh, that is the most amazing feeling! My school’s library is under reconstruction right now sadly πŸ˜•.
Oh man, I know how hard it is to read a good book at night and put it down. I’ve never read through the night though, I end up feeling super sleepy πŸ˜‚.

  2. Wait how do you manage to read 4-5 books at once? And you’re so patient to make bookmarks, I just put whatever comes in my way like a comb or paper as a bookmark. Sometimes I use my brainpower to remember the page number, but it’s pretty obvious I forget it πŸ™‚
Can I do this tag, please *puppy dog eyes*-πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί
    Loved your answers!

    1. I don’t know how I manage it, honestly. But believe me, it takes me a lot of time to finish one or two of them usually πŸ˜‚.
Oh, it was such a passion when I was in seventh grade! I watched YouTube videos and spent hours making these, not anymore though, studies have taken a toll ☹.
I can never remember the page number!!!
And yes, please do this! I did it too and I wasn’t even specifically tagged by Naemi! It’s an amazing, I can’t wait to read your answers!!
      Thanks a lot, Divi!! πŸ€—

  3. HOW CAN YOU READ SO MANY BOOKS AT ONCE??? It’s just too confusing thinking about different stories at the same time πŸ˜•

And yes, your bookmarks are so cute 😍
I like the Harry and Ginny bookmarks a LOT! But I often use my ✨Amazing✨ memory to remember the page number and forget it (my ✨Amazing✨ memory lasts for 2 hours, maximum)πŸ™‚
I’ll rather read a ebook or finish the whole book at one day 😏

    1. Not for me, I love having variety πŸ˜›πŸ˜†.
Oh thanks a lot! And that’s actually supposed to be Hermione, but I guess the brown color in her hair looks a lot more on the red side πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.
My amazing memory is something that I can only have in dreams, I forget everything πŸ™‚.
      And cool 😏.

  4. Those bookmarks are so cute that you almost had me convinced using bookmarks was a good idea! 🀩🀣 But usually, I’m just way too lazy to grab one. Which is also why I relate to you gravitating towards the book that’s physically closest to you – there’s a reason why I put all my unread books on my nightstand…
Great answers, Nehal, and you’re welcome for me kindaaa tagging you! 😁

  7. A fun tag after all!! I just read 1 book at a time mostly because of studies but I still guess for me its hard to read more than one at a time….
Those bookmarks are amazing, I always loved to make them but now these studies don’t give time…I use them for physical books and for e-books I am like a person who’ll just not use that bookmark button up there I just forget I dunno why but yes…Some e-books I just get up with the number and I don’t know how but even if I have to read that book after a month I’ll remember the page no. I left at…

    1. Yeah, I’m starting to realize I’m the only weirdo here who reads more than one book at once πŸ˜‚.
Thank you so much, glad you liked my bookmarks! And I can never remember the page number! It’s like such a random thing that it slips out of my brain very quickly! So wow, kudos to you for remembering the page number after months πŸ‘.
      Thanks for commenting, Rudrani!!
