25 Bookish Facts About Me

Hey Pals!! Today, I will share some bookish facts about me with you all. So, I was tagged for this by the lovely Claudia @ Claudia Reads Books, long ago. Go and visit her site, it’s pretty cool, filled with loads and loads of bookish content. She’s on a hiatus right now though.

So here are: 25 Bookish Facts About Me 😀.

1: I began reading novels when I was probably 8 or 9 (maybe even 7) and my first novel was The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton. I credit my sister for making me a reader today because she was the one who gifted me this novel and also the one who brought me more and more books to read over the past years.

Thank you Di

2: Every year, on my birthday, I have made it a tradition to ask for a book series as a gift and since it’s my special day, my parents can’t deny 😁.

3: I am really guilty for having 90% of the books on my TBR pile to be hyped ones. I can’t help it, they just draw my attention 😍.

4: When I don’t wanna lend out my books to someone, I don’t really refuse, all I say is that it’s with my best friend and I look at her meaningfully so she immediately exclaims just how long it would take her to finish it 😜. We both are…

5: Before starting a book, I usually used to look it up on Common Sense Media to see if it’s appropriate.

6: Often, when I am alone in my room, I pretend to make Booktube videos. And don’t tell me you’ve never done that because I know you have. It’s just so fun.

7: Once, I told my History Teacher that at times I actually read novels during her class, she said that that’s good. I thought she’d misheard me or something so I repeated the theory, emphasizing that I read novels when she teaches History. Her reply: “But at least you are reading something!” I just hope she wasn’t being sarcastic 🙂.

8: I don’t have a signed copy of any book 😒.

9: At times, I feel genuinely sad for not receiving my Hogwarts Letter 😫. And believe me, I am still waiting because I still have some hope. And guess what, I’ll wait for as long as it takes, even if it means waiting forever! I’ll be here Hogwarts, waiting…and….waiting and still waiting.

Come fast, the popcorn won’t last long 😒

10: I have a habit of reading a cute moment between two characters over and over until I get bored of it 🤭.

11: I love unpopular opinions about literally any book, I find them really interesting.

12: I love DNFing books.

13: At times, I don’t feel like watching certain movie adaptations just because I think that they might ruin the way I imagine the characters look.

14: I only read e-books as a last resort. I prefer physical ones and audiobooks over ebooks.

15: I Love Books

15: My favorite genres are historical fiction, science fiction and dystopian.

16: I actually have two accounts on GoodReads. I was never able to log in to my previous account so I had to create another one as I had forgotten the password, but it’s still there, lol.

17: I prefer hardcovers over paperbacks.

18: When I first saw a Booktube video, it took me a really long time to accept the fact that many people actually own more than 100 books. But hey! I was very young then and had only 20 books or something. So you can’t blame me!!

19: Here’s an unpopular opinion: I definitely do not HATE the Percy Jackson movies though I do strongly believe that they weren’t good.

Please don’t unfollow!!!!!!

20: I heard my first audiobook in 2019 on YouTube: Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.

21: I miss visiting my school library and Hans Ma’am (our lovely librarian) so much 😭.

22: I don’t read much non-fiction, neither have I explored much of the horror, mystery and thriller genre.

23: I can easily skip parts of a book that I am not enjoying. I actually like doing that at times 😜.

24: When I was very young, I used to read Champaks and comics like Billu, Pinki, Tinkle and Chacha Chaudhary. Those were the best…😌. I miss reading them so much. I am gonna ask my dad to bring me some.

😂omg, they are so hilarious😂

25: A few times, I have changed the lyrics of songs to fit them to make a song relatable to a reader. Like: Bad Blood, The Climb, Story of my Life 😀. Do you wanna read some?

I Tag: Every bookworm out there!! I want to know more bookish facts about you all so make sure you do this post if you like, and notify me. Consider yourself tagged 😀!!

  1. I’m pretty sure every Potterhead is guilty of #9 😂🥺
Oh, did I mention that I’m guilty of #1,#5,#9, #10-#13, #22, #23 and #24? (The only moderation of #23 is that I have a tendency of skimming through the parts I dislike 🤪)

  2. I agree with the 11th point that you have an interestingly unique opinion about books. In fact, that’s what drew me to your blog- your enigmatic perspective. Apparently, you have to be British to receive your Hogwarts letter because I haven’t received mine either! 😒 I just like to think that Britain is a long way away and the Owl felt exhausted on the way.
AND HEYY!! CHEERS ON SECRET SEVEN! That was my first book too! Don’t remember exactly which one in the series, but I distinctly remember reading secret seven and having an “Enid Blyton phase” that spanned two years 😅
Really enjoyed reading this post and knowing a bit more about you. 😊

    1. Ah, I’m so glad you like my opinions 🙈. And yeah, it’s such an injustice to us Indians (and whatever country you’re from) that we can’t go to Hogwarts, hmph 😤.
Oh hifi!! Have you read the famous five books? They were a delight!
      Thanks a lot! 😃😃

  3. OH I also have a tradition of asking for a book series on my birthday!! I mostly check books on CSM too. And I’ve pretended to be a youtuber so many times- And not just for books-
Number 7. Wow. You have a great history teacher, I must say.
CHAMPAK!!!!! AND PINKI!!!!!! AND TINKLE!!!! Tinkle is the best. For sure. But the other two are also good.

    1. Yay, which one you gonna ask this birthday? 😃
I hope it’s not some other editions of kotlc 😂
You would’ve made a great YouTuber but alas! You stopped 😒
Yes, I know right! I’m still kinda surprised how she took my confession so easily 😂😑
      YES AND BILLU TOO!!!!!!!!!

      1. Haven’t decided yetttttttttt. Oh actually. I just remembered. I’m getting the graphic novel versions of PJO! Heh, if only there was a KOTLC graphic novel version. 😔😔😔

Uff, no time na. Maybe when I’m old and ancient I will do it.

  4. Oh, Nehal. This is so relatable. The perfect birthday gift for me is a book too. I haven’t heard of Common Sense Media though. I used to read books when I was supposed to be studying too. Your history teacher’s response made me smile

    1. Yes, books are just the ultimate gifts for birthdays 😍
And oh, Common Sense Media is basically a site where you can see the age ratings for books and the trigger warnings based on parent and kid reviews.

  5. I relate so much with this. I felt like you were reading my mind for a while (except the one with making booktubes because I haven’t done that yet 😄). I too used to read champak, chandamama and tinkle when I was kid and I think that’s how I became a reader. Great post. I felt nostalgic while reading it. ☺

    1. I’m so glad you found this post so relatable!! You should try acting like booktubers sometimes, it becomes a guilty pleasure 😂😂. And yes, these comics were life 😌😍.
      Thanks a lot!!! 😃

  6. Why is the first #15 crossed out? 😳🤯 Should I be worried? Do you not love books, Nehal? 🥺
Also, no, I don’t pretend to make BookTube videos when no one is around… I am still waiting for my Hogwarts letter, though! And loving to read about unpopular opinions is one of the most relatable things ever! 😁

    1. No, it’s crossed out because it is an obvious fact about me and not worth mentioning 😂😂. I do love books, of course 😌. And you should try acting like a Booktuber, it’s kinda like a guilty pleasure and makes me feel like I’m so special 🤭. True, we all potterheads are still waiting, and yes unpopular opinions are so cool 🤓

      1. Phew, I am relieved 😂 Between that and your non-hatred of the Percy Jackson movies, I was seriously starting to get worried…
And maybe I’ll have to give the BookTube acting a try sometime, then 🤣

  7. OMG this is so much relatable. I also took interest in reading because of my sister’s constant rambling about novels. About number 9 , I am also waiting (WHERE ARE YOU HOGWARTS ?)
I’m definitely gonna do this on my blog, thanks for the idea☺

And oh, is elon musk a good book? I’ve been conflicted upon reading it.
And yes, I wanna go to Hogwarts 😭.
