Discussion Post: 7 Popular Books I Will Probably Never Read

Hey Pals!! So, today I’m going to be sharing 5 Popular Books that I have No Interest in Reading. Without much ado, let’s get started. Yeah, cause I really don’t know what else I can do with the intro πŸ˜‚πŸ˜.

Note: I do not mean to insult the following books or their authors. I do not mean to hurt anyone’s opinions. Also, this is a discussion post, so feel free to share your views in the comments.

1: The Kissing Booth by Beth Reekles

This was one of the cringiest films I’ve ever watched and being someone who barely dislikes movies, it says a lot when I say that absolutely I hated it. This movie was just ugh. It was so clichΓ© and so obvious. It was worse than just the normal clichΓ© that we usually see in contemporary stories where the authors or directors can make the story better through a fine plot progression but in this movie, none of that! I found it super awful and cringey so I’m never reading this book. Rant over.

2: 50 Shades of Grey by E L James

Don’t really need a reason for this one now, do I? I am never watching the movie and never reading the book. I want to stay away from the kind of “stuff” this book offers for as long as I can, and I can do that pretty easily considering I have endless books on my TBR.

3: Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

I have read one book by this author- An Enchantment of Ravens, which I DNFed after reading half of it. The reason is that this author has a very metaphorical writing, and it’s very descriptive when it comes to nature, and I personally do not enjoy beautiful writing in books. I love it in poems, but in books, nope! So I to conclude, I know that I won’t enjoy this book, so why waste my time on it?

4: The Heir by Kiera Cass

This is the sequel (though I like to call it companion novel) to The One by Kiera Cass. It follows the story of the daughter of the main character and I just don’t wanna read it because for some reason, I feel like I won’t like it. Firstly, this book is kind of unnecessary, and it’s also not loved by the majority of fans of the original trilogy. I remember absolutely loving The Selection trilogy, and its characters, but from what I know, those characters don’t even play a major role in this book, which I don’t find interesting.

5: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k by Mark Manson

Okay so, we all know that this is a truly popular motivational novel. And that’s basically it! The reason why I am not interested in this book. Because I don’t freaking read self-help books. They sound soooo real, and I read to escape real, not to find myself immersed in it.

6: 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher

From what I know, this book deals with some very mature topics like suicide, mental health, and a lot more. And it’s also a pretty sad and depressing read as people say it, so I’m.not really inclined towards reading it. I have to admit that I’m kind of intrigued by it but I don’t think my little brain would be able to handle such stuff so I’ll just avoid it for now.

7: Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins

The reason I’m not going to be reading this book is that I wasn’t that big a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy or its prequel, both being written by the same author. Plus I don’t like the cover of this book, or the synopsis (which I haven’t even read by the way πŸ™‚) so I will probably never give it a shot. Plus, committing to another series when I’ve got so many unfinished ones already is pretty hard. Do you feel the same way πŸ€”? Do you ever feel that you want to read a book but can’t commit to another series? ‘Cause I certainly do.

So, that was all for me. What are your thoughts on this? Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? Should I maybe give any of them a shot? Let me know all in the comments πŸ˜€.

Like everything is normal…

Liking posts, commenting, reading blogs,
Trying to distract myself
Like everything’s normal.
Using laughing emojis and exclamations,
Like everything’s normal.
Publishing fun, happy posts written long ago,
Like everything’s normal.
Chatting with friends between classes,
Like everything’s normal.
Giving a small, empty smile
At the thought of about-to-be-500 followers,
Like everything’s normal.
Attending all tuitions, trying to cope with homework,
Like everything’s normal…

‘Cause that’s what it is, isn’t it?
Normal.
Everything is…normal.
Everything’s just sooooo freaking normal!

Never knew so much could happen in someone’s life and nobody could ever have the faintest clue.

But everything’s normal,
Isn’t it?
I’m not hurting.
Everything is….normal.

…Right?

Guess the Book Blogger Challenge!

Hey Pals!! Today, we’re doing a fun challenge 😎. I came up with this on my own *pats herself on the back* though as I’m writing this, I’m still not sure what I’m about to do, but sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow you know? Thinking things through all the time is super stressful!

So anyways, in today’s post, you basically have to guess the book blogger by the hint I give!!

I’m thinking not sticking to anything specific when it comes to hints, so the hints are just gonna be random. Let’s start!

The Rules:

  1. There are 10 book bloggers I have randomly chosen (randomly so not being partial).
  2. I’ll give a particular hint regarding each blogger, and you all need to guess them by that.
  3. When you’re done, you’ll need to write down the answers in The Google Form so it doesn’t get complicated.
  4. That’s all! Just have fun.

The one(s) who guesses the most right, gets to do a fun collab with me!!

So, sounds nice, eh 😁!? Fill out the Google Form here, and know just how well-versed into the book blogging community you are. You never know, you could be one of the bloggers in the list!

So good luck! I hope you have fun.

I Cannot Not Get My Heart Eyes Out At These GIFs πŸ˜

Hey Pals!! So, being one of the creators of GIFy Love, y’all probably know how much I love GIFs….probably to an extent that may or may not be healthy. Today, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite GIFs that I just love with all my heart. Let’s begin!!

Hehehe 😁!! I mean…this is the absolute best. Just the perfect look of mischief from the most popular and the cutest 5-year-old animated character- our very own ShinChan! Eeru aao hee!!

Literally any Spongebob gif is absolutely great. I don’t know what it is about him but he is just way too cute.

This is another one I find really cute. Omg, this laugh is a killer πŸ˜‚.

I use this one a lot as a WhatsApp sticker. It looks so hilarious, like just apply this in real and you’ll get why I love it so much.

My most used WhatsApp sticker! I use it to laugh, not at something, but at someone (my friends). This is used to indicate that I am making fun of them.

And hands down, tHa CutEst!! 😍

Yeah, I’m just done with you honestly, uff!!

Cutiepieeeeee 😚

Finishing my last exam!! 😌*insert puppy eyes emoji as my phone doesn’t support it*

This one is just used to exaggerate that I’m scared πŸ˜‚.

This is like super sassy! It is so me! It suits my mood so much at so many times.

Probably the one line in this show that hit so hard that I knew I would love Friends if I watched the full thing. This is relatable like anything.

So there’s this friend of mine, who really irritates me at times, and I send this to her to make her know that dude, get a grip on yourself! I love the intensity of this GIF lol.

There are so many more but I’m done for now. I don’t know where I’m taking my blog with these super random posts πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…. I hope you enjoy them though, and they make you have a good laugh, that’s all that matters anyways.

That’s all for me. Which of these did you like the most? What are you favorite GIFs? Wanna have a GIF competition in the comments with our very own Aanya 😏? Let me know down below πŸ˜€.

5 Things My School Taught Me That I Am Thankful For πŸ§

No intro, jumping right into the point!

1: I am thankful to my “all girls” school for teaching me how to interact with boys

Since LKG (I still don’t know what it stands for btw πŸ˜„) I have always studied in the same school meaning in an all-girls school (don’t judge me, it’s one of the most popular ones in my city). This means that there is absolutely no boy in my school. As crazy as it may sound, it’s true. So because of that, we children know exactly how to behave with boys πŸ˜‚.

I’ve had a few guy friends in my life from time to time so I have avoided the awkwardness and I don’t find it uncomfortable to be around boys and talk with boys. It feels perfectly normal to me. Though, that’s not the case with some of my other friends. Not everyone I know finds it normal. It’s just something they are so not used to that what they think about it is just nonsensical. But understandable! TBH, it makes things a little fun at times but can be annoying at others too.

2: I am thankful to my school for teaching me… Maths!

Now, who doesn’t like Maths! Who doesn’t like solving the same sum over and over again only to get stupid results! Who doesn’t like finding out how long it will take for 20 men to finish a 30-day meal if they keep running for 3 hours non stop at a speed that is 1/4th the speed of Gatimaan Express if its final velocity is 20m/s and the direction of the wind is equal to the hypotenuse of a triangle with base 3 cm! Courtesy of teachers: take value of pi as 3.14 πŸ™‚.

The other day, my maths teacher was talking about the letter “Z” and I accidentally misheard it for “jet” and when I looked it up on Google, here’s what I found (brace yourself):

InΒ mathematics, theΒ jetΒ is an operation that takes aΒ differentiable functionΒ fΒ and produces aΒ polynomial, the truncatedΒ Taylor polynomialΒ ofΒ f, at each point of its domain. Although this is the definition of a jet, the theory of jets regards these polynomials as beingΒ abstract polynomialsΒ rather than polynomial functions.

Yeah, Maths is THE BEST….πŸ™ƒ.

3: I am thankful to my school for teaching me how to do stitching and knitting 🀨

From running stitch to knot stitch, our school taught us stuff we would never always use in our life. Yeah, seriously, I am planning on knitting sweaters when I grow up, selling them at cheap costs and making a living πŸ˜†. Honestly, I don’t even remember how to do the chain stitch anymore. And that’s not the only thing we had to make. We made stuff so rare and so useful that even the Oxford Dictionary wouldn’t have their names listed in it. Makrams, bukrams (not sure if the spelling is right) glittering baskets, clay pots and even beautifying mobile covers! So useful, I know right!

4: I am thankful to my school for teaching me that English is superior to Hindi

I study in a Convent School so obviously, our teachers are constantly enforcing stupid rules to make us speak in English at all times. And since rules are rules, we do what? We break them, of course.

Now, English is an awesome language but there is something calledΒ  “DESHBHAKTI” if you have ever heard of it. Hindi is our “MAATRABHAASHA” and if you tell us to stop talking to each other in our MAATRABHAASHA, boy, who will ever listen to you?

Being an Indian, I especially feel weird seeing people insert random English lines in their conversations with friends. To me, if I start speaking in English with my friends, my friends would think that I have inhabited a ghost or something. And who are these teachers, telling us to stop speaking in Hindi when we students, have literally caught our English Teacher calling her fellow teachers yaar an infinite number of times?

And last, but so not the least…

5: I am thankful to my school for teaching me that the other section is always better than ours.

Come on now, in which school doesn’t this happen πŸ˜‚! Teachers only have one line and that is:

That’s all. Thanks for reading. Let me know how much you can relate πŸ˜‚. Stay safe. AdiΓ³s!!

Discussion Post: 5 Drawbacks of Being a Reader (or 4 cause I can’t really think of 5 πŸ§)

Hey Pals!! Today, I am going to be sharing 5 Drawbacks of Being a Reader…kind of.

So, being a reader, we readers are constantly in the habit of telling people the benefits of reading and just how much reading helps us and brings us happiness. But every thing in life has its disadvantages and while we may try to oversee them at all points, we can’t deny that this beautiful, heavenly and joyous act of reading also has some drawbacks. Today, I am going to be sharing 5 such drawbacks that I have come across. Here they are are:

Note: This is a discussion post, so feel free to share your veiews down in the comments.

1: People expect me to be a writer

While reading increases our vocabulary and broadens our imagination, it doesn’t mean that every reader aspires to be a writer someday. It doesn’t mean that every reader sees in them the potential to be a writer someday. I personally, have been in several situations where people not only want me, but expect me to be a writer, considering I read so much and also post tons of writing blogs. And this may come as a surprise but I am not sure if I really want to be a writer.

I think that I have fine writing skills, not maybe good but fine, and if I try, I can become quite an author. But there is just so much pressure that it takes the fun away. It may not really sound like much of a drawback, but sometimes it can be petty overwhelming for me.

2: It makes me hate the real world to an extent that is not healthy

We all know why readers read- to escape reality. Sometimes, I start to think so much about the lives of book characters that I begin hating my life and begin overthinking everything about it, and it has changed my outlook on several things that I would have preferred to see in a different way. At times I just feel like all I want is to escape this reality, to run away from it, and it makes me so ungrateful yet I still keep feeling this way. And it is not a healthy way to feel at all as it gives me nothing but pain.

3: It harms my eyesight

I don’t understand why people aren’t bothered by this at all, considering that fact that I freak out on a daily basis due to this. The major reason I avoid e-books and buy physical copies of books only if the audiobook is not available is due to the fact that I already wear glasses and don’t want my number to increase any further. I already use mobile phone too much, and reading through laptop or phone further adds to my screen time.

4: At times, reading gets me so engrossed that it affects my schedule

Except…there’s only one thing in it: yes, you guessed right- reading πŸ™‚

We all know how this feels. We keep reading a book so much that all we care for are the lives of our favourite characters, and I know full well how freaking hard it is to put the book down and study for your finals which are happening in less than a fortnight. At times, I just keep on reading and waste valuable time in that, and regret later when I begin stressing about exams!

I had to think A LOT to come up with the final point and it still does not fully apply to me, and hence the title of the post is the way it is. So, forgive me!! πŸ˜‚

5: People keep judging for no reason

I’ll be honest, I’m besides the point in my life where I’m bothered by people who judge me due to the fact that I’m reading. But sometimes, it can be a little exhausting. But as I said again, it doesn’t bother me much and not many people judge me anyways, but when they do, all it does it remove them from my good books. So yeah, I included this point taking in view that just because I’m not bothered, doesn’t mean others aren’t. Some people, I’m pretty sure, might find it really hard to deal with all the judgemental people and it makes them less of a “socializer”. So people, get your judgy eyes off us please. We’re probably way better than you, go get a mirror and judge the person who stares back instead.

Despite all this, reading still rocks! And all these points easily get overshadowed due to my love for it.

So, that was all. What are your thoughts on this? Do you relate to any of this stuff being a reader? Is there any other drawback you feel like you experience being a reader? And if you’re not a reader, what did it feel like having an insight of our lives? Let me know all in the comments πŸ˜€.
