5 Light and Heartwarming Books to read this Valentine…β€œπŸ™‚β€

Hey Pals!! Today, I am here to share five books that you should read on Valentine’s Day… πŸ˜šπŸ™‚

Note: This list consists of the most light-hearted, fun, sweet and heartwarming books, with amazing love stories ο₯°. It totally does NOT deal with any gory, horror, sad and depressing stuff. I’ll say that again- it does NOT… β€œπŸ™‚β€ . So, let’s begin then!!

1: Animal Farm by George Orwell

This book NAILS it for romance. Don’t believe me? Have a look at the pink cover. A bunch of animals rebelling against their master under the leadership of a corrupt pig? Sure gimme that. What else could you want on this Valentine!?

The romance in this book was epic! From humans being overthrown by a flock of geese to pigs singing songs in the dead of the night, the love story in this book is just apt! A truly must-read on Valentine’s Day ο₯°.

2: A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

In this series, three children are trying to flee from the clutches of their evil uncle who decides to show up after their parents’ deaths to be their legal guardian and spends the entirety of the 13 books in the series trying to kill his nephew and nieces. This oh-so-romantic tale will have you swooning 😍.

3: Coraline by Neil Gaiman

See…the list just keeps getting better and better πŸ˜ƒ.

This book follows the story of a girl who has just moved to her new house, and while exploring strange places as is obviously πŸ™„ the habit of every typical YA female protagonist, she finds out some awfully romantic things. Here they are, why don’t I show you πŸ™‚:

From fake mothers with black buttons for eyes to spirits of lost souls trapped in closets, the romance in this book will have you gushing till you can gush no more πŸ˜ƒ.

4: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Want a light read? Sure. This book deals with the three most non-serious topics of all time- death, grief and gun violence.

The light-heartedness of this book makes me sigh. *sighs dramatically 😌*

The book starts in such a way that you know it’s going to be a love story better than Titanic as…it starts with the main character trying to control his emotions after his brother has been shot to death πŸ˜€.

Throughout the entirety of the book, we encounter the “usual” YA characters like ghost visitors who come to give a piece of advice to this boy on his way to kill his brother’s murderer.

I bet you got your perfect pick for 14th Feb then…if you don’t, I still have one more bomb to drop.

Adding the cherry πŸ’ to the cake πŸŽ‚, I have…πŸ™‚

5: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins 😍

If you still haven’t read this book, read it specifically on Valentine’s Day and thank me later 😊.

Yeah so, this book has the usual romantic drama, what with the two main characters falling in love with each other… Oh and did I mention, falling in love with each other on top of battling to stay alive among 22 other kids in an arena where only one can come out alive, and the rest are either killed…or worse.

So be ready to be a part of a world where the oh-so-unclichΓ©d love triangle between the average best friend and the new handsome guy is wrapped up in the most unexpected way possible.

Well then, happy reading The Hunger Games!πŸ™‚

So, those were all the overly heartwarming books to read this Valentine’s Day β˜ΊπŸ’–. Let me know your thoughts on them down below.

  1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I LOVED this, Nehal! You’re so right, these are some of the most romantic books I’ve ever come across. I still find myself swooning over Napoleon from Animal Farm every time I reread it 😍 And that almost-marriage between Violet and Count Olaf was one of the most heart-warming moments I’ve ever read about 😊
(In all honesty, though, I do LOVE Peeta! So I’m an absolute sucker for the romance in The Hunger Games – and all the gory and depressing parts, too 😁)

  2. Haha omg you got me 🀣 I was so confused when I saw Animal Farm, but of course there’s no reason for that, since all of these are so heart warming. They all are very light hearted and the sweetest romances I have ever read πŸ˜… I loved this Nehal πŸ€£πŸ’™

  3. Ah, yesss! I don’t understand why every book has to have a romance in it. The only book I’ve read from this list is THG, but I know the others don’t really have significant romance. Loved this.
